i have a jalals mane that was holepunched as a quest reward. so my question is this could i add another socket to it by the same quest in act 5 on another difficulty.

No. Lazurk can only grant uniques and rares 1 socket. He has a 50/50 chance to grant certain magic items 1 or 2 sockets. However, if an item already has a socket, lazurk cannot do anything to it.

I think you added a socket to your Jalals after rescuing the barbarians killing Shenk the Overseer and then speaking to Larzuk. You can’t add more sockets to the item, even after completing the same quest in nightmare or hell. You can never add more sockets to an already socketed item (neither via cube or Larzuk quest).
