Is this staff a worthy contender for Obsession runeword?

I've got a fire dealing sorceress of level 67. I rarely play it as she's mostly meant to be a stuff holder. I've found this staff in one of the WS levels with six holes in it and a couple of useful fire dealing skills, but the numbers are quite unimpressive. As the subject matter runeword has

Zod in it, an ethereal staff would be much preferable, akin to BotD weapons, right? This is where it throws me off as the staff is meant to be for a sorceress. The runeword itself rewards with +4 to skills, which is not something to sneeze at, and the resistances if rolled high are great too, but this still looks kinda weird to me. Granted, this is a seldom dropped item, and currently only a couple available on the site for trade. Do you think this is worth rune investment into the weapon?

Orbs and staves can roll with an elemental mastery as an auto mod. In my personal and unscientific opinion, without that corresponding mastery it isn't worth the

Zod.

And even with a mastery you'd want at least

Hydra or

Meteor to have rolled as a +3. Rolling +2/+1 with no mastery is a no-go.
