Reason I ask is that Blunderbore and variants deal Crushing Blow, which is huge for bosses. With a full Revive pack of them, necros can even destroy Ubers. They make a much bigger difference than other revives.

I'm not sure what got Blackleach Blade. He had just beaten the Infector of Souls without a scratch, and that tends to be one of the main threats to my platoon, depending on what modifiers he rolls. But on the way to middle seal he just wasn't in my lineup anymore. Either a lame White mob got a lucky hit, or he got caught on a weird corner and despawned. In the latter case, this would at least be the first time that's happened to me since I started D2R, so it's definitely improved since ye olden times. Chaos Sanctuary has always seemed a little jank, what with the Storm Casters getting stuck behind walls half the time.

New IG is an Insight. Due to issues I had while developing my FOCL sorc, I had it in a Halberd, so I figured this was the best thing to do with it once I got a better one.

i have an Eth Windhammer to offer up for Sacrifice if you want it (assuming you're on sc ladder).

That is silly. I will absolutely take it.

Well, that didn't take long. I think I've discovered the downside of putting Treads of Cthon on this character. I'll have to keep track of the hammer.

I really liked having the Insight around, too. Damn shame.

I don't think the hammer ever even did the thing, it never seemed to actually be in combat when I was looking

update: throwing down a Bladebuckle next, mostly because I also have an Eth one and I want to see if it winds up being different other than the alpha channel

update again: completely unrelated to the golem but I just found two gem shrines next to each other, so I think the game is apologizing?

I would really like to see a fully synergized and skill-geared IG from an Eth. Thunder Maul Beast.

All the stats you need, something like 21-22k life, probably around 10k ar...add a Pride might merc for the full tri-aura goodness and you should be able to knock at close to 10k max damage for him as well.

Obvious problem being that the bloody AI delay will forever stop him from actually having decent DPS even with that..but hey, should still be interesting to at least see him 1-shot cows with your amp behind him.

Calculating IG damage isn't too different from how it's done for players. Assuming one is spawned from a weapon, +% ED is applied to base weapon damage after the ethereal bonus. + Min/Max damage, if any, is added before Fire Golem synergy and other off-weapon sources; e.g., auras.

Also, IG (alongside Act 5 merc) has the benefit of its own 5% Critical Strike that's applied separately from other CS/DS sources, meaning there's a very small chance of quadruple physical damage.

... Too bad none of this actually matters. IG attack rate is far too slow, and a frustrating 15 frame AI delay makes them look brain-dead.

Bladebuckle lost to Blood Lords on Durance 3. Eth Bladebuckle next.

is this accurate? What if its made with an armor of some sorts? Does it get any benefits from and two defense/life/survivability from armors? And then how would that come into play from weapons?

and since we cant use elite weapons to make IG... kinda losing potential for a lot of damage there arent we?

P.S. GFace has been my go to whenever possible.. they drop like candy and give your IG some serious juice.

Why do you think you can't do that? I'm certain I've done it before.

You can make IGs out of Elite bases no problem.

IG can't be made out of non-metallic weapons/armor. Crystal Sword, Dimensional Blade, and Phase Blade are the only swords that aren't viable.

that was my original thought hahaha.. which I thought was shitty.. but i googled and found some forum that said you cant use elite and exceptional.. buahaha.. Thank you for clarifying.

Eth Bladebuckle dropped to an extra strong Wendigo with fanatacism while gathering my platoon in the Cold Plains.

Next is The Patriarch, I want to get the bigger items out of my stash.

Update: Died of unfortunate Teleport on Durance 2. New IG is Doombringer, figure I may as well get anything that's going to annoy me by overwriting my curses out of the way.

Food for thought, when you step through Pindle's portal to Nihlathak's Temple, you can use Raise Skeleton on a bunch of the undead there before they wake up. I can usually get 12-15 skellies out of that before having to fight anything. And then you can immediately kill Pindle, which is always a good use of time.

Those undead do have good drop tables, but if it saves a good golem, that may be a good trade.
