level 20 Iron Golem is level 20. Isnt the golem the same level as the skill level? I could be very wrong :'d

I think they're asking if you create them with an item that has variable stats based on character lvl (ex: plus life based on character lvl).
Will the variable stat be adjusted to the lvl of The Summoner, or the lvl of the Iron Golem itself.

That is a good question and I couldn't find the answer with a quick search.
I would assume that it either uses the player level or those item affixes simply don't work with Iron Golem.

I don't know the answer to this, but the Amazon Basin article on Iron Golem has this point:
