How Good Is Grief?

Heya folks,

So recently stumbled on a

Sur rune and wondering what to do with my new found Wealth.

One option is to trade for a

Lo and make a Greif. I have a mag find/

Key find sorceress and a budget uber smiter.

Wondering what a Grief would do for my uber smiter and if its worth blowing my whole find on just that

Blade. I don't really struggle with

Uber Tristram but do struggle a little in Matrons Den with all of Lilly's minions killing me while I find/ kill Lilly...

So would a Greif allow me to smash through them pretty quickly with

Smite.

Or am I better off getting some gear for my Sorc (currently doesn't even have a storch/ anni or SOJ ring). But is pretty set with full

Tal's other than that...

I was in a similar situation to you. Full

Tal's Armor Blizz Sorc that I use for mf/keys and had a budget smiter. I ended up cubing some runes to make Grief and don't regret it. The +dmg makes it one of the best melee weapons in the game and is useful in many builds. I got basically the lowest roll and it's amazing. The items you are contemplating are more luxury items in my mind (storch/anni/soj). Assuming you have CtA, Greif is a good choice, imo.

The other route would be to upgrade the merc for the sorc so you can farm immunes like

Baal waves better.

What's way more effective than changing the weapon on your way to

Lilith is using

Zeal for this part (Izuals dungeon as well) and then switching to

Zeal for the bosses. That being said: Grief is f'in awesome and you will melt everything on your way to the bosses.

Edit: switch to

Smite for the bosses of course.

Grief - very good melee damage and no problems with physimmuns (damage with Grief with

Zeal is a similar to low

Vengeance). Was in a similar situation and no regrets about Grief

Went With Grief - not the best roll with IAS but pretty easy to still reach breakpoints even without Fana.

Thanks for all the advice- haven't fought Ubers with it yet as no keys but pretty good walking around weapon.

Man, you will love it. You will find any other weapon (unless even more expensive ones) as mediocre. That roll is fine. My barb went from a double Oath to Grief and man, he clears

Travincal faster than the cooldown allows. Best decision ever made.
