Can be used to make Runewords:
Treachery is a good idea, I somehow don't have a good ethereal 3 socket to make one yet lol. He often dies to Andariel on P5 or higher cuz she hits hard and blizzard kills slow-ish.

if it is Andariel, and have Cure, it may try unique armor socket Gul .
That usually means your merc only die due to poison damage.
easy way to try it is use Guardian Angel. see how hp drops and if it work, then think about if going to try Gul on leech armor.
if not work....still coh/engima+hp works best.

Some Trade is available for both rotw and LoD, Most rune , Perfect Gems is only in LoD side.

True but my statement was meant to be treach > Hustle for this setup. Hustle won't perform better against Inferno, would it?
CoH is of course best but Ber is hard to find in SSF and you might not want to spend your first Ber on a Merc armor.

I tend to socket roll basically any Eth armor with 700+ def and hope to get 3os for that reason. It still takes forever to get enough for making hustles/treaches for all Mercs.
You can also make treach in non- Eth ones. There are people even arguing that you want low def on treach to consistently proc Fade.
A low def treach should still perform better than a Skin of the Flayed One.
I case you roll a 2os armor with great def, you can consider Smoke. Not the best but ok-ish and cheap enough for a temp.

Fortitude is BIS for many setups, but not for the Prayer-Cure-Insight one. For that one, it's CoH.
Stone is invalid nowadays and I'd consider it a waste of Um+ Pul, esp. in SSF.

Maybe a Blood Body as a temp armor while waiting a better life leech one ? But it looks crap with only 3% and it may be long to craft a decent one.

The question was "Does anyone have any other ideas or a go-to when it comes to armor for this particular merc set up?" The answer to that is simple: CoH. He did not ask for the costs.

Yeah CoH is best, but first 3 Ber I get are gonna be for other runewords hehe. My Cure merc used an Um'd Shaftstop and it worked great before I got CoH. Eth Duriel's Shell doesn't seem too bad either.

This is correct, there is no benefit to players 8 vs players 7 in terms of drops. Only more XP.justinman114 wrote: 7 months agoNever on P8, no. For armors, CoH is best for LL, then skin of flayed one. Greyform and Boneflesh exist, too. And you could craft a blood armor if you feel fancy.
I'd probably go with Treachery. Once Fade procs your res problems are gone and physical damage is reduced. With triple heal that should be enough for a lvl 92 A2.
