I found a 'Cracked Akaran Rondache' with 45 all res on hell cows
is there someway i can get 4 sockets on it for a Spirit?
i know you can cube them to normal but it makes the ilvl=1 which i think means max sockets 3
can Larzuk socket cracked items?
could the random sockets cube recipe work if i upgrade it to normal first?
or am i just wishy thinking

Larzuk can socket any quality of item, inferior and superior. I often like to use him to socket superior items that can't have the socket recipe done. I have no experience on the cubing items to normal part, so I don't have anything to contribute regarding that. If you really want those 4 socks, just get it Larzuk'd. It's not hard or expensive to grind another char on norm to get that quest again.
The random cube recipe will work if you upgrade to normal, the ilvl doesn't matter for that. You'd have a 50% chance of 4os.

You could also test it with hero editor creating a quick char, giving it such cracked shield and send him to act 5 with the quest done, but socketing open.
Might be a tiny bit complicated with the cracked shield creation (at least for me as a bit inexperienced with the editor), but then you may be sure how it is?

Been playing off and on since 2002/2003, and just today learned that you can “fix” cracked/crude etc. items. Always wondered why they ever existed.
