Description

This is an idea I've had for a long time, but this is just an idea to ponder over: What if D2R added the ability to add "crafted bonuses" onto Unique items.

For example, this would apply to:
  • Hit Power
  • Blood
  • Caster
  • Safety

The justification here is that, as we all know, Runewords are still basically king MOST of the time, which sometimes is kind of sad. I was thinking about how it's nice that you can at least use cube recipes to upgrade the item base of normal and exception Uniques (and Set items now), but what if there's more we can do to "improve" and maybe tip the scales to people maybe choosing the "
Death Cleaver
" over the BOTD, or the Arcane Valor over the Fortitude/COH, etc.

(Also, we can get into the specifics later but I feel like the COST in terms of pGems and runes would have to be greatly increased, since it's a much bigger deal than Normal Crafted items)

But probably the BIGGEST reason this could be a cool and fun idea is just the added customization, every person's Unique could be slightly different... maybe more offensive, or more defensive, etc. . Just the ability to add like "Safety" to an armor for more damage reduction/magic dr/life, or "hit power" to your
Stormlash
for like +50% enhanced damage, or add the "Caster" to an armor like
Harlequin Crest
or Arcane's Valor to give it +10% FCR/mana, or "Blood items" to add some extra life leech/ow to your
Azurewrath
, Nord's,
Windhammer
or
Death Cleaver
.
