My only thought here is that

Loricated Mail is a heavy armor class. I seem to remember reading the ethereal condition affects the weight class, but I can't find that anywhere now (logically it would; just can't find the proof so don't want to say one way or another). I prefer

Archon Plate for that reason--highest possible defense for light armor.

Probably no big deal on a merc, though. Just a useless fact. No idea how it would affect value.
