  • If you lost the
    Horadric Cube
, or just want to give a
    Horadric Cube
to a mule. Go back to act two where you got the first cube and loot a new cube from the chest.
  • If you have a bunch of stuff in the
    Horadric Cube
that you want to sell or move into your regular inventory, just lift the cube, drop it on the Ground and pick it back up.
  • If your stash, inventory and
    Horadric Cube
is full and you really want to keep that one item that dropped. You just have to pick it up, so it is on your cursor and hit save exit. the next time you load it still will be in your hand.
  • Open your inventory, press alt, open your cube (it has to be in your inventory, not in your stash), release alt, and close your cube/inventory. Now items will always be shown.

  • While only taking up 4 slots worth of inventory space, a
    Horadric Cube
's interior yields 12 slots of internal space. It is standard practice to keep the cube with you at all times, because it essentially increases inventory space by a collective 8 slots.
  • Unidentified items contained within a
    Horadric Cube
will still be correctly identified by
    Deckard Cain
, when using his Identify Items feature.
  • Dropping a
    Horadric Cube
from the inventory to the Ground will automatically put anything inside it straight into your inventory, assuming there is space for it to fit. Otherwise, said items are dropped on the Ground along with the
    Horadric Cube
    .

It takes 14,281,868,906,496
El
runes to cube a single
Zod
rune.

Attention! Do not attempt at home!

If you don't get a cube in act 2 you can get one in act 3 when you kill the high
Council Member
which drops
Khalim's Flail
.

I've used this a few times now when rushing someone through norm. I gave them my cube in act 2 and got a new one in act 3 when killing the high council for them.

Just to clarify:

To get a cube from the
Council Member
(on Act 3), the quest must still be incomplete on the current game (or else
Khalim's Flail
- and the Cube - will not drop)

On the other hand, you could get a cube from the
Halls of the Dead Level 3
chest even if the quest is already completed on the current game 😉

On both cases you have to not have a cube on your inventory/stash (drop it on the Ground works 👍). And wil be dropped one cube for each character without cube close or at the town 😉
