Description

Before I blow a bunch of money on Eth Titans, can someone please school me on whether it's worth it or not.

I've read through some other forum chatter, and it's hard to decipher.

I predominately run cows and I dont care about the life leech. I'm only interested in lightening Fury damage.

Can be used to make Runewords:

Yes and no.

It doesn't help with Fury damage since the lightning part is only based on your skill lvl (and lightning +dmg/-res).

It does however help with mana leech (common problem) as that is based on the physical aspect of your damage and with your dmg against light immunes. In those cases, the difference is quite noticable.

As pointed out by Schnorki, physical damage, and anything else based off your physical damage, will see a boost.

From the DB entry for Titan's Revenge:
As you can see, if it is both Ethereal and has been upped to a Matriarchal Javelin using Recipe: Elite Version of Weapon, you'll see almost double the amount of physical damage output.

OP
The doubled physical dmg output will only effect the initial target and any that get pierced in a straight line?

I feel like I would still end up spamming alot of javelins on P8. How aggravating is it that you can't insta repair?

Even using 2 sets, I feel like when i went to the next cow run, eventually they would both run low.

Standard titans are good and you can always up non- Eth titans too. I switched travs to Silkweave after i ran into mana issues when switching merc's Insight to Infinity. I personally consider Eth-titans to be pretty much the last upgrade for endgame build.

I'd say there's other gear to get before Eth Titan's if it's for the Fury damage only.
That will also make you need less shots. I do not use Eth Titans yet and need about 100 shots to clear cows - with Eth Titans you will need much less so with 2 of them you probably won't ever run out of charges.

For me, I'll go for Griffon's and Infinity first or whatever RNG blesses me first with. Still if I find Eth Titan's I'd use them till they run out and swap to a non Eth till they're up again - I would not buy them before any of the other damage boosting items however.

Prices are negotiable :)

Infinity for java and frying cows.

Eth titans not at the top of priority list.

Thanks for the useful information this is something I have been pondering myself as of lately.

What about Thunderstrokes in regards to LF damage....

All other considerations aside, +4 thunderstrokes should deal more damage since youre getting -15 lightening res?

(im not talking the initial throw damage, but the lightening damage when it splits)

Hey, i play SSF. I have an Thunderstroke (+4) and an Ethereal Titan's Revenge (non-upped). I use both because when you're playing SSF, well, you use what you drop 😁

My review: not being able to repair your Eth Titan's Revenge is more detrimental than it helps as it makes your cow runs longer due to extra repairs. The extra damage, at least for the non-upped version, is not worth it.

Despite that, both Titan and Thunderstroke still performs very well with Lightning Fury (as expected) but the extra FWR speed on Titan's Revenge is especially helpful when trying to cluster the cows for maximum AoE dmg. Also since Titan's give you +2 to passive & magic skills it will boost your Valkyrie and Decoy which are also nice for positioning cows.

As regards to mana, even with a max roll Medidation Aura on my Insight i still need lots of mana potions. Also mana after kill is probably a good idea to add on top of mana leech.

That said, if you play on-line and can trade and choose what you're working up to, go for normal Titan's Revenge first. Then go for more +skill items ( Hellfire Torch!). Then you can think about a Eth Titan's, but only after getting another regular Titan's Revenge and/or a Thunderstroke.

Unless of course you find one for a good price.
