Description
I now have 2 versions of Wraithstep, one with +1 Demon and one with +1 Chaos. I could use either in my Abysslock Summoner but wanted to poll the experts opinions if the 163 strength requirement is really worth it. I'm currently running Waterwalk Scarabshell Boots which gives me 200 def, +65 to life and +5% to max fire resist.
If I don't go with Wraithstep, I'll just run Enigma in a Mage Plate instead of Archon and throw all the extra points into vitality but if I do, I'll run Enigma and/or CoH in Archon since the strength will already be there.
Thoughts? I'm lvl94 btw

Can be used to make Runewords:

I wouldn't use the Demon Boots but Boots with +1 Chaos means more damage. If you can afford losing the defensive stats from Waterwalk and the extra points into str (won't be many with Enigma), I would go for Warithstep, especially if you also use Gheed's Wager, which needs +151 str. Imo, this is the best Belt option for an Abyss Warlock, better than Arachnid Mesh.
Everyone uses Call To Arms + Spirit it is 156 str it is only + 7 str
I am online every day. I try to solve the offer as quickly as possible.

Does you build rely on your demon for damage or is your demon functioning more as a tank/aura provider? How many pts do you have in Bind Demon/ Demonic Mastery/ Blood Oath?
If you heavily use your demon, you can actually use both Boots. Just start the game wearing your +demon Boots and then swap them out for +Chaos Boots--your "spawned" demon will benefit from the extra skill point and won't be affected by the loss of a skill point afterwards. A bit tedious, though. I consider it a type of pre-buffing.

You want 156 str for your off-set CtA Spirit Monarch anyways. Wraithstep is a measly 7 more than that.
And for an Abyss lock (=Void), it is actually 0 more than that since once you switch back from your CtA set to Void, you gain at minimum 8 from said Void, meaning you're covered there. You'd merely be BOing without Boots if you decide to save the 7 that way but other than for us more OCD folk, that doesn't make a difference.
If you instead drop your str to the bare minimum and don't even have a Spirit for CtAing then yes, you do gain some stat points to drop into vit for more life but not only do locks get tons of life either way and really aren't hard pressed for more but you're giving up (a) a skill point (=dmg and whatnot) (b) mana (BO at least 1 lvl lower) and (c) life (again, BO at least 1 lvl lower). (c) in particular offsets what you gain through a bit of extra vita at least to some extent so by comparison, you're not even gaining the full benefit of that extra vita, if any noteworthy benefit at all.
Simply put, Wraithstep = win.
And assuming by "abysslock summoner" you mean an Abyss lock that merely happens to also have a solid bound demon and whatnot, +Chaos it is.
If you mean a summoner that has some off-points in Abyss for some random reason then...why?

31 in Bind, 31 in Mastery and 14 in Oath. I'm running a pretty nasty cursed Heph with Stone skin and Vigor so he does some pretty good damage. I'm still on the hunt for a Gheed's Wager and also a unique Grimoire that's better suited to my build rather than the Measured Wrath I currently have to go with my Obsession

I decided to go with archon since the str was there anyway and in the long run it's not much more for a lot more def. In this game def is pretty over-rated in my opinion but when it's there i'll take it. For me it's also the one I'm more likely to use on other characters that i build later.

Neither. I would go Dusk Shroud. It is a good compromise between defense and str.Rhaegar86 wrote: 14 hours agoIf I run Wraithstep, which would you suggest I build Enigma in, Mage or Archon?mikelessar wrote: 14 hours agoI wouldn't use the Demon Boots but Boots with +1 Chaos means more damage. Mage Plate has a max roll of 261 without ed and needs 55 str. That's 4.75 defence points per str point.
Archon Plate: max roll of 524 without ed and 103 str. That's 5.09 denfence points per str point.
Dusk Shroud: max roll of 467 with 77 str. That's 6.06 defensce points per str points. A good torch and anni will bring you close to that, but 103 str for AP might be too much if you already have a high clvl for a big str boost from Enigma, plus a Void, as Scnorki has mentioned. By the way, Void in a good base is just badass for Abyss Warlock and since it is one-handed, you can wear Spirit until you get an Ars Dul' Mephistos.
But in fact, it does not really matter which base you choose, as long as it is a light armour.
Maybe your looks also matter to you. Then choose whichever armor looks best to you.
If you want an Enigma that all your builds can wear, then go for MP.

I've actually never thought about using CtA + Spirit offhand so I'll get that going as well. I have 33 in Abyss with Obsession. I chose Obsession over Void for the +65% FCR and +69 res since I have a +3 Chaos amuletSchnorki wrote: 14 hours agoYou want 156 str for your off-set CtA Spirit Monarch anyways. I prefer War Traveler over the extra +1 skill, but that's just me.
All trades are negotiable within reason

Similar to a build I am planning when I find the perfect Kris for Void. Load up on demon skillers, demon Wraithstep, arachnid, +3 demon ammy, Mang, +6 Bind Demon book.. hit around Lvl 50 Bind Demon and Demonic Mastery, the swap to Void/Meph book, Chaos skillers, Mara, gheeds Belt and Chaos Wraithstep.Rhaegar86 wrote: 13 hours ago31 in Bind, 31 in Mastery and 14 in Oath. Let me tell you. A unique demon starting a game at ~Lvl 50 Bind Demon/Mastery (and high Oath) is a force of nature. I'm just thinking of having 20pts in Abyss, 20pts in Miasma Chain and a mix in Miasma Bolt and Blood Oath so that I have something to do while he abuses everything on the screen. It's not a "delete screen" build, but so far there has been nothing he can't handle in one or two hits, and P8 T5 heralds just take a bit longer to whack to Death, depending on the affixes.
