Description

Hi,

Does the barbarian from Act 5 benefit from + barbarian skills that he does not have?. E.g. I have a dual-wielding merc ( Frenzy, Iron Skin, Taunt), I found a +2 to Increased Speed/ +2 to Battle Command Helm. i equipped the Helm, he doesn't use the Battle Command, but does the passive of Increased Speed affect him?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Bonuses to passive skills (to all individual skills, actually) only work if the hireling already has them natively. So, Iron Skin bonus works on Frenzy barbarian, because he natively has Iron Skin. It won't work on a Bash barbarian, though.
For the same reason Increased Speed won't work, as no barbarian hireling has this skill natively. They are not fully-fledged barbarians like player characters and are limited only to a handful of skills, not entire barbarian class skill trees.

How I understood it is that Act5 merc is an barbarian and its class bonuses apply to them. Ofc only the class bonuses which are usable on the barb. But Iron Skin and Increased Speed should affect the merc just like it would on player.

I was actually afraid so. It would be good if he would cast occasionally Battle Command on me, but ok...
