Description

Hi,

when you drink a potion, you know the transparent preview of how much you will heal?
I noticed recently that half way through the healing process, it just disappears and the healing stops. Doesn't happen all the time, but quite often. I had BO active every time.

Maybe it's an old thing, but I never really noticed it.
Does anyone know more about this?

If you pre-buff with
Battle Orders
your character, you'd naturally need more potions to fill out the entire available capacity. Additional character skiller items (full skills) would make it even more significant.

OP
What I mean is, when I drink the potion, it first indicates how much life I would get (yellow line), but when it reaches the White line, the drink effect expires.
I tested it now, this happens both with and without BO active

Maybe you suffered some damage before full healing 🤔🤔

For a while: not accepting
Ral
and considering
Perfect Skull
as a regular
Perfect Gems
on my trades.

I think a video would be better to show us what is happening.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.

Has your character been green shade when you noticed such behavior?

No stray archer, poison or anything? Fully out of combat?

I think (but I may be wrong), when you are engaging enemies or run, the healing effect goes up slower than if you are standing still.

OP
Hi,
no poison, no enemy archers.
Here is a video of what is happening:

That looks super odd.
I will take a closer look at hp while playing to see if i can replicate that. Because to be perfectly honest I use mostly full rejuvs and never paid any attention beyond hp low or hp full.
Also curious if this is ui display bug, potion healing bug or some other thing.

Do you see this weird healing behavior with all of your characters/classes/builds or only certain one(s)?

OP
Just ran the numbers on this instance here.
It took about 10s and healed 325HP.
Expected from the pot (no crit) is 320, +5 from regen is in the expected range, so the numbers make sense.

I measured the distance on the screenshots (so take it with a grain of salt), but it seems that the preview as roughly 50% higher than the actual change.

OP
I haven't noticed it on other chars.
It is a bit difficult to see, but the health preview seems to jitter quite a bit while it is regenerating.

Might be that the LCS is checking your base Life (as in, before
Battle Orders
), seeing what percentage of that 320 would be, then highlighting that percentage of the orb? Which would mean that when you have BO active, the highlight on the orb is overestimating the percentage of your Life that will be recovered...?

It might be worth seeing if
Oak Sage
or
Lycanthropy
cause similar inconsistencies, too

I've never noticed this specific behavior, I might have to futz around with it and run some numbers later...

All trades are Switch only :)

Active most nights on Switch (Friend Code: 8500-1494-0819) from 0200-0500 UTC+00:00

Thank you 2.4 for making all of my wildest dreams come true!

The numbers I ran here are without BO though.
The behaviour is the same though for both with and without BO, but I only checked the numbers without BO.

Typical Blizzard, short changing us on our healing potions to save a few bucks! 😜

I've seen this too, I always just thought it had to do with the character's healing per second. I've also noticed this on my Lv. 95 Druid's mana bar. He drinks tons of Mana pots and as his mana rises, the potential fill bar drops.

Hardcore mode is my jam. Played a lot of D1. Played D2 from its release till about 2010, then lots of D3 for most of the 2010's. 29 year Magic: the Gathering player. 12 year League of Legends player.

I'm not sure what all gear your character and merc are using, but have you tried to see if it still happens with both of them naked?
7
Sometimes I get the same results, meaning the final life is lower than the preview.
Sometimes when I have life problems the potion shouldn't fill the missing life but it does. It heals more than the supposed valued to heal.
7
Actually, i've seen a few weird occasions in the last few days that sounds similar.
Not in regards to the preview thing, i don't keep track of that.

But, several times, i've used a full rejuv potion aaaand i appear to only heal 1/3 to 2/3 of the missing HP.
