I was looking forward to making a Hydra sorceress with Obsession on nonladder for the whole of season 2, to bring more color to the greyness of Eschuta's Temper+Spirit.
Then blizzard came with their 2.6 fix and turned the situation on its head right after I finalized the build and, long story short:
I, for one, welcome our new ranged Enchant overlords.

The one and only Demon Machine to deal the damage shown:
Once per hit plus (once per explosion) times X, where X is the number of enemies pierced in the near vicinity.

I suppose you add a Fire Sunder with that ?

I switched from Hydra FB sorc to Enchant after months of perfecting the gear for it ... but 54 Enchant Demon Machine just melts P8 Terror cows effortlessly. Good times. Does anyone know, if +6 Enchant orbs still exist? Need to get my hands on one.

Max Enchant, Max Warmth, Max Fire Mastery. Fill in the rest with whatever you want. ES + Telekinesis is not a bad idea for some added survivability... if one needs that
Oh, and it requires the item Demon Machine (unique Chu-Ko-Nu), that's the centerpiece of the build.

How does an Enchant Sorceress fare against fire immunes assuming you still don't have a Fire Sunder and Infinity on your merc?

Without sunder you'll be relegated to farm stony tombs and other areas without fire immunes, like any other build. Fire sunders are plentiful and cheap, so I don't see you making this build without it (+ Flickering Flame to offset the -fire res from it and putting immune enemies to 80% res).

Infinity is not needed but makes you even more powerful. Use any other merc before you get to Infinity as a meatshield. I'd consider Blessed Aim (you want your Bolts to hit and Pierce) act2 merc with Obedience for starters. Act5 merc, if you can live without extra AR and want a slab of meat in front of you.

Sunder Charms drop in Terror Zones both offline and on non-ladder now, so everyone should be able to get one by themselves.

This build actually existed back in LoD (long before D2R), but it was very much a niche thing to play when you had tried everything else, and back then you probably needed some backup skill like Frozen Orb or something. I remember reading about it years ago. 2.6 just made it insanely strong (especially when coupled with sunder charms).

well if u dont have sunder you have to rely on merc. But 72fire sunder is like Pul. Easy to get.

I have to say it do insane dmg. I have been playing p3 yesterday doing Chaos runs with my friend who is singerbarb and other friend who doesnt have much. (I am lvl 85)

Considering the fact I have only -5fire faucet + sunder (still missing Flickering Flame) so Venom lords resists are +94, I kill them easily if merc (or anyone tanks them). When they are lined up next to each other they die pretty fast. - you have static on offhand with 105+fcr so you fight monsters with half hitpoints.

even naked sorc with Demon Machine do more dmg than Fireball (on same gear using dual spirits instead of Demon Machine).

till u get gear you wil have to accept -50all res but its doable - till u get gear u should just walk and not TPing around like crazy, because you die so easily.

My gear:
Lore (will be Flickering Flame)
Skin of the Vipermagi (socketed -5/+4) -5% is really huge !
Razortail - Pierce is must otherwise you do only 66% if your dmg
Magefist
Sandstorm Trek (even with them my poison res is 58)
amulet +2 fire skills (one day it will be +3fire, 10fcr)
Raven Frost
random 10fcr ring with resists
sunder, 5x skillers, 15all res GC and some self found sc, anni 14/19/8, no torch

Offhand I use dual Spirit - if u have 10fcr amulet u need only 35fcr on offhand to reach 105break point

My merc has Lawbringer + Unbending Will + forty + arreats face - I probably wont go Infinity with this build, but rather dual Plague - without merc it was hard to TP around. With merc finally built its breeze.

Skills:
Enchant, Warmth, Fire Mastery max, rest of skillpoints are static (14), ES (6) and Telekinesis (9) - after I get storch I will respec make it better optimized
Static Field - get it to 16yard radius so you would hit almost all entire screen

Compare to normal amazon bowa:
pros:
This build is doing more dmg per arrow
Static Field, ES, 105fcr TP
everyone on public is enchanted by your Demon Machine "you use Crossbow wau effect"
very interesting build and fun to play
thanks to maxed Warmth you dont have to worry about mana - except Energy Shield, I still drink only in fights, or when I cant find Throne of Destruction and I TP a lot
With good merc you can clear any location (you need tank so u have time to stand and shoot)
cheap build
skillers are super cheap ( Pul/ Um/ Mal)
maxed Warmth
100pierce (which is actually more than my Faith bowa - need 10IAS on Belt there)

cons:
VERY bad resists, I highly recommend to get 15IAS 15all res jewel for ur weapon
no leech so you cant play it like bowa
3rd set of gear for Enchant can get really expensive

What i do recommend: get Memory staff with +9ES

My dmg so far is 7025-8729 - with torch and without extra crazy Enchant buff gear you can get close to 10k easily
resists with anni finally higher (fire is still -38, but Flickering Flame will fix it)

Just get Demon Machine and respec. Blizz sorc is the most boring build to play, at least for me

How do I play:
I TP around, when I stop I step back so there is distance between monsters and me. I cast static for second, swap weapons and fire at enemies - but with bad gear u have to play safe and smart or you die more often than you can imagine. At some point I was clearing CS, baalruns with -80fire res.

to level up with Kuko Shakaku would be painfull because AR is big issue. If u wanna get better AR act2 with AR aura + Infinity.

my physical dmg is 183-597 so upping it makes no sense. Well I think I will try it with some life leech to get at least some hp back, and for that it will be good. All dmg is from Exploding Arrow + Enchant. Upped its 141str reg - if u run Spirit shield you can do it.
