Can be used to make Runewords:
Can be useful to limit the maximum number of sockets on an armor. E.g. a damaged Archon Plate "repaired" to a normal Archon Plate with then iLVL = 1 can only have up to 3 sockets instead of 4.
Cheap way re-roll cracked/damaged necro heads to try to get your +3 Raise Skeleton/+3 Skeleton Mastery shrunken heads.
