I hope my questions did not cause you to think I did not respect your opinion. As you might have noticed, I liked many of your estimates in my own and other's price requests.

My intention of asking these questions is to better understand so that I have to ask for less guidance in the future.

But I understand that my curiousity could be misunderstood as disrespect in which case I'd like to apologize.

From the short time I've been here, you were one of the most active checkers.

I also think it's useful to have several estimates on some items and enjoy following the discussions and the reasoning behind those estimates.

But I get your point, too.

My point is that 0os are much to cheap.
As mentioned, I will do the socketing on my own and self use it if I get unlucky.

But I will also check if there is a stable source of 0os and a stable demand for 2os because hell yeah I will run Larzuk rushes for 9 Jah

And even I that case, they will probably want a "pack" of items with 0 os, for a low price, and not a single one....

That's why bases with no socket only have significant value when their max sockets enabled a "end game" runeword (so you can use Larzuk to garantee that number of sockets)

Compare the value os things like:

- 0 socket eth Thresher (or any Polearm/Spear with 5/6 max socket) X 4 socket Eth of the same Weapon

- 0 socket Amazon Bow (max Sockets 5) x a 4 socket of the same Weapon


Little related history, a while ago I wanted some Echoing weapons with 2 os for my Barbarian. I was offering a lot for them, but offering almost nothing for a simple Echoing weapons (0 os), actually another user donated some to me in the end - thanks @mockingbirdreal - as, without the guaranteed 2 os, they have no value... And in the end, I abandonned that idea after spending some Larzuk quest and obtain always 1 os (which I couldn't sold even one yet...)

I mean... I get this in principal.
But compare these 2 things:

In your example with the threshers and bows, on average, sou have to buy/find 6 0os bases, cube them with 6 gems and 12 runes. This is not expensive but annoying. If you get unlucky, you have to do this several times. And the gain is ~ Pul for all that Hustle. I was doing this with 0os phase blades, that's why I'm selling so many of 4/5/6 os PBs.
You can also make a profit in ID'ing torches but you have to trade hundreds of them to balance the odds and you need patience, all while a lot of your Wealth is locked in dozens of torches in your stash.
You can do the same with rune words. You can make a profit by hunting for this perfect Spirit or if you are wealthy also more expensive ones. Been there done that. I'm still offering several 35 fcr Spirit monarchs. Profit is around 1-2 Ist per 11 Spirit attempts - when you finally find a buyer.

So, I do understand that you can make a profit out of this.

But earning 9 Jah for basically (on average) doing 2 Larzuk runs and only investing 1 Jah for the bases is by a huge margin the best deal I have encountered so far. And that's why it surprises me.

In case anyone wonders how this saga ended:
Larzuk was lazy that day and only punched one hole in it. My necro is now running (fast) around with it and terrorized cows with his Poison Nova.

To be fair, if I had to socket so many items, I would cut corners here and there, too.
But this 50-50 claim is definitely false advertisement.
