I wish to build a Sorceress with Energy Shield. I know that the Infernal Cranium provides 20% Damage Taken Goes to Mana (I figure that this would be a great way to maintain the Energy Shield). I would like to know what other items give you this bonus. I can't search the database nor can I use a filter to display items with this bonus. I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a list of items.
Can be used to make Runewords:

% Damage Taken Goes to Mana only works if you actually take damage. So that doesn't really work very well with Energy Shield. See https://maxroll.gg/d2/resources/life-ma ... ana-header
For the database to see items with "% Damage Taken Goes to Mana", you can simply add the dmg to mana filter:
runewords/#filter=Damage%20taken%20goes%20to%20mana
sets/#filter=Damage%20taken%20goes%20to%20mana
uniques/#filter=Damage%20taken%20goes%20to%20mana

Must have read my mind. I was literally just pondering this ability.
The Nightsmoke Belt is probably the best for this as it provides a 50% damage taken adds to Mana.
If in a bind and you wanted to go non meta, you could actually put 4 Eth in a 4 OS shield, and 3 Eth in a 3 OS Helm to achieve 105% (7x15%) damage goes to mana. So I think that means for every 100 points of damas you take to your health, you receive 115 Mana. Not a bad way to keep mana topped up if you get hit often eg Missiles in Hell difficulty.

Afaik Eth has mana regenerate and Ith has damage taken goes to mana.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 2 days agoIf in a bind and you wanted to go non meta, you could actually put 4 Eth in a 4 OS shield, and 3 Eth in a 3 OS Helm to achieve 105% (7x15%) damage goes to mana. Thank you - you saved me from a wasted experiment!atari wrote: 2 days agoAfaik Eth has mana regenerate and Ith has damage taken goes to mana.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 2 days agoIf in a bind and you wanted to go non meta, you could actually put 4 Eth in a 4 OS shield, and 3 Eth in a 3 OS Helm to achieve 105% (7x15%) damage goes to mana. I will argue mana after per kill is superior. especially for AOE skills.
With enough + skills from gear & charms & Insight on Act 2 Mercenary + 1 point in Warmth, your mana will regenarate pretty fast.... just get 2 SoJ and alot of +skill gears
Don't train till you can get it right, train till you can't get it wrong!
If looking at dam to mana options, the Runeword Rift gives 38% but its a polearm Runeword so you’d need to want a polearm as your weapon (level 53 required for Runeword).

This is true for the classic ES sorc, but if you use a low level ES (and low res) with high damage to mana you get effectively damage reduction (instead of tanking with your mana pool).atari wrote: 2 days ago% Damage Taken Goes to Mana only works if you actually take damage. Lets assume you have a 66% ES absorption, 150% D2M, 0 resists, 100 damage taken:
You take 49,5 damage to mana with maxed Telekinesis, 34 damage to health and you heal 51 mana.
I think this is still weaker than a real ES sorc, but it needs less skill points. And 66% damage reduction against anything except poison isn´t too bad either and you don´t need any res above 0%.
I have thought about this before, but never actually tested it.

First of all I would like to say thank you for the information.atari wrote: 2 days ago% Damage Taken Goes to Mana only works if you actually take damage. So that doesn't really work very well with Energy Shield. See https://maxroll.gg/d2/resources/life-ma ... ana-header

In response to your first statement, even at level 20 Energy Shield only absorbs 75% of the incoming damage. I'm curious to know what level the skill has to be to achieve the 95% Cap.
In response to your second statement, it prompted me to take a look at the filters again. I initially looked under utility filters. Then I decided to look at defensive filter. Lo and behold I found the damage to mana filter. Thanks, I wouldn't have looked under defensive if you hadn't insisted that the filter exists.
Level 40.
It’s fairly easy with a Memory staff (made in a base with +3 Energy Shield, for a total of +9) - you just need +11 total all/lightning skills, assuming you have invested 20 hard points, of course.
I'm in CET (Central European Time)
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.
Holy Grail Death Count: 1

If you cannot find a filter you need, there is also the instant search (between reset and item type). Just type something like "damage taken" and it should filter the results and only show items with that.Rob York wrote: 3 hours agoIn response to your second statement, it prompted me to take a look at the filters again. Cool idea for a build. I would go for either a 66% ES or 75% ES version, which with maxed TK means you need 150% damage taken goes to mana and 200% respectively to make you mana neutral when hit.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 2 days agoThank you - you saved me from a wasted experiment!atari wrote: 2 days agoAfaik Eth has mana regenerate and Ith has damage taken goes to mana.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 2 days agoIf in a bind and you wanted to go non meta, you could actually put 4 Eth in a 4 OS shield, and 3 Eth in a 3 OS Helm to achieve 105% (7x15%) damage goes to mana. Tyty!
Nightsmoke Belt - 50% or Tal Rasha Belt 37%
Aldurs Boots - 10%
Jewelers Tiara of the magus with 3 Ith - 45%
4 socket armor with 4 Ith - 60%
That’s 165% right there. Just need another 3 Ith runes in the shield and weapon, or angelic ammy 20%, Carrion Wind ring 10%.
Could also do full Tal Rasha set (37%), socket armor orb and Mask with 3 Ith (45%) and do a 4 Ith shield (60%) and aldur Boots (10%) for 153%, and run your ES at 67% with maxed TK.
Actually I kinda want to try that one now
