You could actually take this a step further and go for a 6 socket 5/5 Crystal Sword while still maxing FCR, this would be the theoretical best damage option, but I think it is only marginally so, maybe 3ish% effective increase on average (I just did back of the envelope, I would have to do a more precise calculation). But then fire res becomes a big issue unless you stay in range of Flickering Flame on merc, and you lose +5 skills to the non Chaos trees which are still quite useful for defense/life/mana and demon abilities (assuming minus 5 for mangs, +1 for hellwarden over FF, -1 for SOJ swapped with Opalvein), so that's why I think 15F Mang's is the best.varangium wrote: 1 day agoI personally think 15F Mang's is BiS for a fire lock IF you get expensive gear in some of the other slots and charms to make up for the missing FCR and resist (if not it's worse). Now, while FCR and resist have a point of no more returns that you can match with Mang's with other gear, you cannot easily match the +%life given by Obsession. So, with Obsession vs. Mang's, I have about 14% more life on Obsession (if I also gain +all skills for CTA by swapping out FCR ammy to Mara and 1 Opalvein to SOJ), but -20% more negative fire res with Mang and an additional +5% fire skill damage on the socket. Also +1 skill on Mang's, but this is offset by the fact that I am currently using 1 gc slot on resistance charms (if I spend up on even better gear I can avoid this).
15 on the other stats doesn't matter for Mang's, it's just style points. But very pretty.

What a week!
I did find Vex, 9-10 fire rune, that GC 1+eldritch 44life, and now this Void roll!!!!!!
I have played over two years now (D2r and Rotw, did play as a kid also but only solo)
And nothing compares to this week, I played months without anything to show.
Still to this day, Jah is the highest rune I have found my self to set the stage.
I did find Vex, 9-10 fire rune, that GC 1+eldritch 44life, and now this Void roll!!!!!!
