To play or not to play with the 4200 Magic Find EasterEgg?

As the title say, to play or not to play with it (the 4200 MF EasterEgg)?

I am against playing with any kind of cheat mode activated on any game I play but with this slot machine / lottery ticket Diablo 2 is, I kinda lean on using it.
You don't get infinite ammo, infinite lives, cheats that reveal map or any perks that interfere with the game. You get just a boost of the very low chances that you initially have to find that so elusive items in the game.

I'm leveling a new character right now and in Nightmare, Plains of Despair, I encountered the Burning Souls. At this stage I was in doubt to activate it or not.

According to Nishicode (https://nishicode.com/#/dropfinder/AAABCAgAbgAACZU=), with 1167 MF and a level 96 Terror Zone you have 1 in 12662 to get Tyrael's Might.
When non TZ, the best bet you have is with Hell Baal, at 358754, and we are talking Players 8.

With these numbers in front of me I made up my mind, so I killed my merc and activated the Magic Find dance.
Now I'm in Act V with that 4200 MF. When life throws you lemons, you make lemonade.

What do you guys think about this "cheating" mode to play?
This is more powerful than ever before as now you can terrorize the entire game and benefit the enormous magic find number.

Well, I believe the formula for effective MF is (MF*250)/(MF+250)

At 1167, your effective MF for uniques is 205. At 250 MF (reasonable to achieve for most characters) your effective MF is 125. So you get an increase of (1+205)/(1+125)-1 = 35% in the number of uniques you will find.

Is that worth it? Maybe now it is with the ability to terrorize the whole game. But it doesn't feel game changing.

How long on average does it take you to prep and trigger the MF easter egg?

You're right, it can take a while until you find those souls and then trying to activate it. But if you're committed to make a full game clearing, it's definitely worth it.
Right in the second zone of Act V, of two kills I got two unique.

I have done it a about a dozen times. Still no Tyrael's Might. Probably 2 where I did a full TZ all acts. You find more stuff but mostly you get a ton of magic items like its raining blues. I wish magic find improved your odds of getting better rolls too. If you have a Wisp Projector or Tgods those are great both is best. If you have both souls really cannot hurt you. The Plains of Despair is my go to spot but it can be a pain to get it to trigger no matter where you try it. I think I will do another sesh with it this weekend.

IMO it is better to just spam high density TZ areas than to go full act clears with the easter egg enabled. while yes, the MF is higher but diminishing returns is a thing, and it is not that much of a difference for the effort of finding the souls, getting them to dance, and not being sure how much of an increase you've got.

Whaaaaat! D2 still dropping secrets 2 decades on…

I think I'm still under the yesterday Easter Egg or even better - I'm actually not but the drops try to tell me other way.
Have you seen these kind of drops? It's the Super Chest from Cave Level 2 - 5 unique, 1 set, 1 rune.
