i like my Insight rogue on the classic java (no mana worries) and Faith rogue on the main Lightning Strike/self wield Infinity zon (annihilate everything even faster). actually every of my zons uses either of the two, including the Plague java (currently Faith but not sure about it..)

I run might on my A2 merc, I dunno if its placebo or not but I feel like when I throw my Fury with the might merc it hits more often and I have less follow up throws to clear a mob. I was running the Holy Freeze with an Infinity but I found that if the Holy Freeze was up the Conviction aura wasn't affecting the mobs until the aura swapped over visually on the merc. I could be wrong, but I tried a few different runs with the Holy Freeze and just found might to be better for my tele+Fury playstyle.

Well, with most AOE type spell you generally wanted the monsters clustered as closely as possible, so usually slowing down their speed isn't good for damage (leaves them more spread out).
I haven't played a Javazon in years, and I know the lightning does jump, but that could be what is going on here. That's why with many of my AOE characters I prefer Terror Zones with extra fast.
Also, with any aura that impacts an enemy, it pulses every two seconds and has no impact before the pulse occurs. So with or without Holy Freeze there will be a delay of 0-2 seconds upon an enemy reaching the Edge of your aura range before your Conviction takes effect. Holy Freeze at level 16 (typical level if merc doesn't have +skills gear) has a radius of 14 yards, slightly more than Conviction aura at 13.33 yards. If you are wearing +4 skills gear (Andariel and CoH as example), the radius will be 16.7 yards. So if you are not tp'ing to an enemy, the Holy Freeze may proc first for some enemies. Too my knowledge, this should not prevent or change the timing for the Conviction aura to proc.
