Best 2–4 Player Class Combinations and Aura Synergies in Diablo 2?

No data yet

2

Description

I’m looking for ideas for strong 2-player, 3-player, and 4-player team compositions in Diablo 2.

I’m particularly interested in setups where the characters are built to support each other, not just four random strong solo builds.

Examples:

Multiple Paladins using different auras
Necromancer + Paladin for curses, summons, and aura support
Sorceress with
Enchant
supporting melee characters or summons
Paladin aura combinations that boost the whole group

Which class combinations create the strongest synergies for damage, survivability, leveling, and farming?

I haven’t found much detailed information about this, so I’d appreciate practical examples and explanations.

A good 4 player setup would be:

1.
Fanaticism
Paladin (maybe with a merc wearing Pride for
Concentration
Aura).

2. Any physical damage Barb with
Shout
+BC+BO

3.
Poison Nova
or
Bone Spear
Necro with Curses and
Corpse Explosion

4. Warlock for Sigils and Hexes or a Sorc for
Static Field
and elemental damage support for phys immunes

Of course there could also be 4 Fire Warlocks with 4 Apocalypses at once. I mean, why not ;-) All four could be naked and they would beat the game (easily).

For a duo, you should probably go for two different kinds of damage (maybe one physical and one elemental or two different elements or one element and one magic etc) so that you can deal with immune or sundered or high resistance monsters better. Then basically any combination of two viable builds that can also finish the game solo should work.
If you want a challenge: A
Poison Dagger
Necro and an
Inferno
-
Blaze
-Sorc ;-)

1. FoH-Paladin or Tesladin providing
Conviction
paired with any elemental caster class is a great combo to maximize damage output. By the way, a party-oriented FoH-build is the best healer in the game. With maxed
Prayer
, he can cast Holy Bolts healing up to 2k life per second to your frontliner!

2. Fanazealot pairs well with Bowazons, Javazons or Trapsins/Bladesins. He is a formidable tank, helps greatly with IAS and makes life of the sensitive sisters much easier. A Throw-Barb can swap his Faith-merc for something more useful and offers defensive buffs for the Paladin to improve his tankyness.

3. Summoner/Defiler Warlock + ES Warlock is a sick duo. The Summoner brings a strong tank and multiplies ES damage from fellow Warlock. Add Might merc, one
Prayer
/Cure/Insight merc,
Fanaticism
/Cursed demon,
Concentration
/Cursed demon. That's six auras! Add a Summoner Druid for another damage aura, even more hard-hitting minions and steady
Shock Wave
security for any situation. Accompagnied by a Harmony-Rogue Scout. I can tell, this team is invincible.

4. A Fishymancer brings a lot of safety, crowd control and damage to the party. His huge army makes fighting Heralds a walk in the park! Dangerous
Thorns
can be countered with
Life Tap
, hellish Wisps or Dolls with
Dim Vision
. He pairs well with all ranged or melee classes and can provide up to 5 auras at once!

5. Barbarian and Sorceress are always a perfect team. The
Whirlwind
- or
Frenzy
-Barb is a good tank, improves survival capability of the Sorc and the Sorc... yeah, she does Sorc stuff like roasting the screen. Even if not using Enigma, the Barb can cross rivers and rifts with his
Leap
skills to keep up with his partner which makes them a nice duo for levelling. Endgame Barbs can go
Find Item
, so the Sorc can maximize her damage potential.

6. The Poisonmancer can fulfill a similar role as FoHdin/Tesladin. He can provide meatshields or bonewalls to counter aggressive Heralds and pushes party damage with
Lower Resist
while casting poison spells and
Corpse Explosion
.

7. The Enchantress is a well-known support build for any physical damage class. The more attacks, the stronger. Imagine an Armymancer with 30+ enchanted minions, each of which dealing +4k fire damage. Or think of a Multishot/Strafezon. Any melee class will love her for the huge AR boost. Give her a
Demon Machine
, so she doesn't get bored.

For low items I also accept: Perfect Amys,
Ral
,
Hel
, Tokens, Keys. Please don't offer runes lower than
Pul
(with the named exceptions).

Once upon a time, the Assassin and the Sorceress met at the Stone entrance to the
Chaos Sanctuary
, leaning against a scorched pillar and sharing a cold beer. Far down the corridor, the red glow of hellfire pulsated, but neither of them looked particularly rushed to step inside.

"Honestly", the sorceress said, talking a sip and adjusting her staff, "I am tired of running around. I just want to drop my hydras, let those multi headed fired beasts do their spitting and enjoy the view. If I get really bored, maybe I will casually call down a
Meteor
just to watch the big rock hit the Ground, but only if I do not spill my beer".

"Tell me about it", the assassin replied, cracking her knuckles. "My legs hurt from all
Burst of Speed
running in act 3. I just want to lay down some lightning sentries from right here and let the voltage do the heavy lifting. But we need a buffer, A real bodyguard. Someone to handle the paperwork if a pack of Doom Knights charges us".

Right on cue, a pale figure stepped out of the shadows, shaking the dust off his dark robes. It was the summon necromancer. He took one look at their beer, then down the dangerous, monster-dense hallway of Chaos.

"Say no more", the necromancer grinned. He snapped his fingers and an entire corporate of workforce consisting of iron-clad
Skeleton
warriors, skeletal mages and a massive golem pulled themselves together out of the dirt. They marched forward, completely blocking the hallway in a thick crescent wall of solid Bone.

"Consider me your new head of security" the necromancer said, leaning back. "Go ahead, finish your beers. My boys will stand the line. If a fast pack flies in, I will hit them with
Decrepify
to slow them down to a crawl. If they have high resistance, I will hit them with
Lower Resist
, so your fire and lightning cut twice as deep. And the second that first body hits the floor? I will turn it into a high-yield bomb with
Corpse Explosion
.

The girls smiled. This was the perfect "sit-back-and-relax" setup. The necromancers army locked down the perimeter, ready to tank any aggressive
Terror
Zone modifiers, while the sorceress and assassin could casually Rain fire and lightning down the hall, while sipping from the beer can.

"This is great" the sorceress said, leaning back. "But you know what would make this a real vacation? Someone to actually watch the monsters for us. Like, a guy who stands at the front, does a little ceremonial wave to the crowd, and the whole room just dies".

As if answering a
Prayer
, a gentleman marched up the steps. It was the
Fist of the Heavens
paladin, with his polished armor reflecting the hellish light. He did not look like he wanted to break a sweat either.

He walked past the group, casually stood under at the shoulder of the
Skeleton
wall and looked down at the massive, packed horde of demons, waiting in the center of Chaos. He did not draw a sword. He did not
Charge
. Instead, he just raised his hand and gave the monsters a polite, slow "wave".

A massive, almost blinding pillar of
Fist of the Heavens
light, slammed down from the sky, right where he pointed. Shattering into a spectacular, web of piercing holy
Bolts
. The projectiles fanned out in a perfect "circle", shredding through every demon and undead creature across the entire screen from maximum range.

The synergy was beautiful. The paladin would stand there "waving" his hand, calling down holy strikes that softened up the high- density packs. The lightning sentries and hydras would effortlessly secure the first few kills on the weakened targets from total safety. And the moment those bodies hit the floor, the necromancer would chain detonate the
Corpse Explosion
, erasing whatever was left the the enemy.

Cheers !
