I've seen that cool aura that confuses enemies, on the horker post, and also there's that manic Dream girl archer merc, which sounds really cool idea.

I can only recommend that pixie, did it myself and its quite funny

I use it a lot on act 1 Rogue merc i really like cause it causes confusion curse also hase high def Currently using on superior Eth Corona also gives a bit more survaivability to the merc due to chance to cast terrot and Mind Blast...
Some people Also use it in act 5 merc but its descent runeword and i like it personally..
another use use if people find 3 Battle Orders barb Helm the make it Deli for the +2 to skill so they have 5 Bo help. and extremely rare now days to see also 5 Tornado deli but the rest skills arent much

I'd totally use it...if it didn't have that stupid 1% chance to annoy the crap out of you for way too long 
Perfect for ranged though, not so for melee
I've been using it in the last two D2LOD ladders on my Singer Barbarians: they need any skill points they can get to buff up their damage and Delirium is better than Lore but worse than an Echoing Helm in this sense. It's a temporary choice until you find the right Helm.

I have one on a Frenzy barb with +3 Increased Speed ( and some other skills ) and it definitely keeps the game...interesting. I'll fight it out through the one minute of devil doll-ness as a challenge that I sometimes lose. Seeing everyone go nuts seems fitting for such a fast paced, insane character.
So, how does Coven fare compared? I guess reaching 99 fcr seems easy enough even without, huh?

It is. I'm using Heart of the Oak, 31er Spirit, 8er Caster Belt with 20str, 24fhr, res and Trang-Oul's Claws (not even needed if you have a 2/20 amu for example).
Comparing them, you end up with
20fcr / 30fr / 15mf / 5laek compared to
+1 to all skills
so it's a decision between survivability and power. Even though the survivability is quite decent, I chose power
But should be really worth it if you are aiming for the 163 breakpoint.
