That is just good advice in general.

Though after some initial more specific post-patch testing just now (albeit still less and less structured/methodical than on the PTR), I'll stand by my previous findings.

Having
Holy Freeze
noticeably increases the curse rate overall, obviously, seeing how it simply adds a 2nd trigger for said curse.

However, there is no reliably noticeable difference in curse rate between 1-2 targets or 10+-15+ for me which still strongly suggests a check per tick, rather than per target.
Additionally, the real curse rate on larger packs (10+ minimum) is noticeably far below what it should be if it was checking per target. That was reliably noticeable across a couple of
Flayer Jungle
clears. Didn't count the packs specifically so however many that adds up to might not yet be statistically significant but it lines up with my previous results none the less.

And lastly, if you specifically hunt for spread out packs and stand in the middle of them to wait for a tick curse, it still cursed either all or none every single time, no exception (same # disclaimer as above post-patch). If it was per target then it would be an "on striking" equivalent trigger, meaning the cursing should normally be aimed at that target and since a TZ96 Heph should come with a 12.6yd freeze radius along with a 14.6yd amp radius (roughly at least, trusting maxroll for those 2 numbers real quick, too lazy to double-check atm ^^), you should then see cases of only "one side" of your aura-affected targets being cursed as the curse is triggered by (-> aimed at) a target on the far side of the screen which then wouldn't have enough of a curse range to cover most of the other side of your aura range. You wouldn't expect that all the time of course but it should still happen every so often. If it was per tick, it'd instead generally be cast "on self" as there is no target to consider, meaning it would indeed always cover the entire freeze range (plus 2 yds, technically). Given, there is a chance that aura-cursing gets special treatment and counts as "on striking but with no aim target", can't say I've ever dug into the source code to look at that possibility, but it would be another deviation from the norm at least.

Either way, I won't bother doing even more testing on that as I really don't have a horse in this race. To me, the results seemed clear and the same every time. But even if they weren't, it wouldn't change my bound demon choice so..don't really care.

Speaking of testing though:
Miasma chains is still all sorts of bugged. Continues to regularly do no damage whatsoever to (non-moving) chain-targets and still gets blocked by friendly units and random blades of grass or dust particles to ensure it keeps just dropping to the Ground in front of you, rather than going where you cast it.

But, we can spam up to 10 of them to mitigate this. Spray and Pray seems to work well, mixed with Miasma
Bolts
and
Abyss
.

Can confirm, the bound
Holy Freeze
Cursed Heph procs curse on all enemies within range, or none.

Spraying a handful of them them roughly in front of you then teleporting behind a big pack has been a lot of fun so far.

I think I'm more powerful than before the patch, but I have to pay attention to my bound demon (and even feed it) as I've already had one die...

You are confusing proc with area of effect, a single proc of a Cursed can curse almost full screen (as it uses a very high level of
Amplify Damage
)
So, the fact that many monsters were cursed is not a confirmation that there were many procs (as a single proc may cursed everybody)

What would confirm that the pulse can proc per monster would be the frequency, as with with 5% chance per monster, 14 monster would be enough to give you 50% change of proc (1-.95^14 ~ 51%) and 27 monsters would give you the old 75% (1-.95^27 ~ 75%)
So in dense areas like cows you would proc constantly if pulse can proc per monster instead of only once per pulse.

(Well, I will test later anywayšŸ¤žšŸ¤ž)

Well I have tried and tested it extensively myself, both on PTR and with the currently released patch.
Holy Freeze
checks for each mob separately, I am 100% sure of that. When the check succeeds it curses a large area, so it never just curses 1 or 2 mobs.

I've found 2 sunders in half a day with a party of 3. Shards are dropping more as well.

The main thing I like, besides the obvious, is the new way heralds spawn in. It's created some interesting moments when I'm not paying attention and am expecting it to spawn on my friend and get surprised.

But mainly it feels like Ires inside Chaos and other small areas have way more value now.

Yesterday I lost my binded demon from before the patch as I summoned a
Goatman
. Before the patch I could do this but now not, ouch...

I then played about 4
Terror
zones with my Fury druid until I got the first
Herald
. Just wanted to check how they spawn. You have to watch out that they do not spawn on top of you, especially in hardcore.

Today I terrorized act 1 and made it to herold 5 which dropped a fire sunder charm. Guess I had lots of luck. In case anyone wants to trade it for a
Latent Bone Break
on hardcore ladder let me know (in a few days on hardcore non-ladder).

The heralds I got were a bit easier I found. There aren't as much monsters around the
Herald
in most cases because the way they spawn relatively near to you. You can also identify the
Herald
himself faster.

I have just tested this, trying to replace my bound Pit Lord with a summoned demon, 6 hard points in demon mastery. Neither Eldritch,
Tainted
nor
Goatman
overwrote my bound Demon.

So in combination with what a buddy has told me yesterday, I think that replacing your bound demon can only occur if the player has less than 5 hard points in demon mastery, giving them only one demon as maximum.

Having five or more points in demon mastery prevents that replacement from occurring.

Finally my boiler was able to get rid of nice perfect
Conviction
-Cursed
Blunderbore
. Now I can respec as many times as I want (limited by qty of token only).
Respeced into boiler with 3*
Tainted
. I gave Infinity to my merc . Spawn
Tainted
with 3-set of Horazon, Mangsong and Flickering Flame. and jump over the
Terror
zone. When see skill shrine-recent tainteds.
Herald
are extremely easy. Only pack that gave me troubles was A1 archers with
Conviction
+Cursed. They were able to kill my
Tainted
very fast. Rest of
Herald
had enough bodies around for me to heal my pets. Running around I switch to
Baal
book + Ondals staff for boiling.
Don't use CTA on this build.

Got one fire sunder today. Shards drop rate is very high.

OK, had the time to do one
Baal
TZ.

1.) This guy drives me crazy. Really every second statue he drops is either a
Madawc's Ire
(like this time) or a
Bul-Kathos' Nightmare
. For me no other boss has dropped nearly as much "foreign" statues than this stinky mean caricature of a boss šŸ™„šŸ˜

2.) It is raining shards like never before. I only sniped the boss and got two
Western Worldstone Shard
when I cleaned the throne room. Never ever got even one before when playing
Baal
TZ.

I've been playing for about 18hrs cumulatively with zero sunders. This is why I say out of Vegas
Shards, however, are raining down like beads at Mardi Gras

My result from an entire act 1-5 play-through was the same as before = zero sunder.

However as you said plenty of shards.
Herald
's also spawned consistently which was nice.

Drop chance looks to be around 1:50 (any sunder) so not sure where this great improvement is from other than it's less player dependent.

Fun fact:
Since the patch hit, I have received more sunders off of non-heralds than off heralds.

Given, 1 and 0 aren't exactly stellar sample sizes but hey.. :P
(0
Herald
drops that is, not 0
Herald
kills)
