You can't "recharge" Tomes close to stash on Act 2 (same issue with Key on Act 3...)
(well... you can sell and re-buy tomes/Key, but take a little more time and they tend to be placed in the wrong spot in the inventory - if you have empty spaces, like me... )

Many of you are so "practical", you only care about short distances.
In 40 years when you think back to the D2 towns, will you rather remember how tiny and convenient the act 4 fortress was or how cool the vibe and atmosphere was in Lut Gholein and Docks of Kurast?
What will remain in our hearts when we get (even) older, efficiancy or feelings?
In 40 years I'll remember how badly my first Faith rolled, or building Fortitude with Io instead of Lo lol

Speaking of Meph runs, a sorceress can return to the "correct" town at the end of the run even faster, by using Telekinesis on the portal. No need to walk to it.
Other classes can get a charged version of TK.
I TK everything and somehow never thought to TK that portal and feel super dumb now LOL

Seeing as Ive been playing Diablo for 20 years, I still think act 2, 3, and 5 are the worst 3 towns with 3 being the absolute worst of them.
1 is the best because its both practical to how an encampment would be setup, spawn in location relative to the stash, TP area, cain, mercs, and WPs.
4 is next because of the WP, cain, TP spot, spawn in, and mercs. The vendors are a "little" far away but if they were closer it would be perfect. I just dont like the vibe of act 4.
5 has a good TP spot, spawn in location, a close vendor, and the stash. Cain and mercs being so far away keeps this one lower. Good asthetic though.
3 is bad for everything being on such narrow and long paths. While the distance from vendors isn't to far, other then the merc vendor, the route to get to them sucks. Plus the spawn in spot.
2. Worst run from spawn in to anything. The stash is right next to cain and a vendor to repair but thats still not helping it when the TP location is the absolute farthest from the WP location and the merc vendor is also far off from everything else but you do have to go past it on the way out of town. Its the only act where the potion vendor is not the scroll vendor. Cool asthetic, bad layout.
