Just dropped a unique Serpentskin Armor from big D. 35 all res and 11 mdr ! My merc loves it (his previous rare was sooo bad)
Vmagi is underrated as a merc armor, it's one of the best things you can use before Fortitude, I think. Especially if you're gonna do Trav/Meph/Baal, it singlehandedly nullifies Council Member Hydras
If you can't afford Fortitude, The Gladiator's Bane is pretty solid also. High flat damage/magic reduction, def, 30% FHR, 50% poison reduction and CBF. Granted level 85 requirement, but I got one for 2 Perfect Amethyst,;and ironically found one a couple days later.
Pairs well with ES for Sorceress also. I swap it w/ Viper Magi pending where I'm going/what is terrorized.

I have been Chronicle hunting TZ Diablo for weeks, ends up being a random Doom Knight I sloppily killed at a seal before teleing over to Grand Vizier of Chaos. At my MF, drop calculator calls it 1:17,266,398.
