What I decided to do was use hero editor to just max ES and grab a CureHelm and run Baal. (My actual character is online). Well, on P1 on my way to Baal, I get trashed by a mob of whisps or whatever they are called.
I’m getting very frustrated with this. All I wanted was a char that can rush fast and then p8 Baal solo to level up the rushed character. ES warlock does this without an issue.
Hammerdin sucks and can’t get past wave two even with sunder (side question, how do those bots do Baal runs? They have no merc), ES dies, javazon dies. Oddly enough, the character I play when I’m bored is an Ice bow zon and that thing doesn’t really have any issues with survivability and even can 1 shot almost anything on p1… just not a caster, doesn’t use Enigma and if it did, fcr is slow.
I need to stop buying gear for multiple characters only to find that they suck lol. I’ve got like 8 arch mesh and 5 war travs like a dozen sojs, a bunch of enigmas and all sorts of stupid Eth gear

Never respec'd? Whoa.
Whisps are always nasty, but can be downright brutal pending modifiers. My sorc is using a Wisp Projector I found. Even with lowest roll of 10% lightning absorb, goes up to 20, it definitely made Gloams/Scarabs/lightning mobs much, much less of a concern.
Can you list your skill distribution currently? It must be 20 hard points into Telekinesis and Energy Shield; then the more + skills the better. My Sorc has 28 to ES currently and is survival is solid, albeit in P1. I also up'd a Nightsmoke for the 50% damage taken goes to mana, and that is working well.
Buff your ES at the stash before the run. Easy to get +4/+5 to all skills, if not +6 or higher to ES with Memory staff, and then you'd be at lvl 35-37 Energy Shield for 90%, or more, absorb. Get ES high enough and then your biggest problem is poison. Sandstorm Trek instead of Waterwalk for up to 70% poison resist. Max poison resist w/ (small) charms then if need be.
Do you have a point into Frozen Armor? Major survival boost when you accidentally Teleport into a hard hitting physical pack.
Warmth? With 1 base point and your current +11 to skills, would be 162% mana regen. What level Meditation Aura on your Insight? Mana regen ranges from 575-700. If you're missing Warmth and have a lvl 12 roll, you're short 287% regen in total.

"P8 Baal Solo" is a tall order IMO without best gear and an inventory full of light skill (and other useful) charms to have lvl 40 ES, for the 95% absorb, and peak damage to make this plausible. I've never really had a character that felt particularly strong, or could do things 'easily', in P8 solo. Also, why the fixation on handling Baal runs solo online? People tend to participate and the waves are evaporated practically instantly before they're much of a threat.
"ES Warlock does this without issue". That's because Warlock is broken and severely OP currently. I killed DClone on my ES Warlock using Blade of Alibaba without much hassle...that ain't right lol.

I’ll switch to trek. No, I didn’t max tele. I need 10 levels to max ES… as far as I can tell, this build needs like level 95. I did put one into Warmth and frozen
