IMO the new version of the maxroll editor https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/ is terrible (way worse to use, and crashes a lot...)
Do anybody have some othrr online editor to recommend as an alternative?
or a "trick" to use the old version of maxroll editor ?
(that I liked a lot...)

Can be used to make Runewords:
The old way : hero editor.

Agreed. Old maxroll was far superior.
The new one is just unnecessarily cumbersome.
Sadly, haven't found anything better either. Though to be fair, I haven't actively looked. ^^
Hero editor is more for when you already know what you need vs. the maxroll planner for the initial theorycrafting.

Is it possible to obtain the .d2s files from my online characters? 
Don't think so, but back in old days you could download items packs.
That way you don't have to create them.
My timezone is CET/UTC+1.
