(Or statistics reaaaaally hates me again..if anyone's managed to bind a Herald, do let me know ^^)

Herald is probably considered a "mini-boss" (which you can't bind...)
Is thIs there a "easy to search" site where we can filter Super Uniques Monters by their fixed affixes (and "Demon" type

While Hephasto the Armorer is probably the more reliable option with Bind Demon 19-, if you have Bind Demon 20+ the demons with fixed Cursed may be better targets (when you want to keep re-binding demons until get the Aura you want...)

All of the decent cursed SUs are non-demon type. :/
(Even ignoring that Heph is just a Beast for other reasons, too)
Maxroll is probably the best source here (assuming their data is correct) as you can set the monster to whatever SU you want and have a look at the affixes it gives you. They do differentiate between fixed and selectable (=random).
The next best option I've found so far is the Corrupt Rogue types. If you happen to randomly come across a unique cursed one there and get the right aura rolled, they make for a very solid (and beautifully aggressive) choice. Though unlike Heph, they can actually die after a while so worth binding the demon heal for that one. ^^
Got lucky on a fana/cursed one there while running my ladder lock through hell A1 and it just demolished the entire game.

Example: filter by "Cursed" will show only " Achmel the Cursed" (which doesn't even have the Cursed affix
, just in his name...)

Though you'd have to get lucky with the aura you give him on Bind Demon, and the damage bonus only applies to physical attacks unfortunately.
Fair. And I knew that, technically. Specifically went after him once (and only once..) for exactly that reason.
So let me rephrase that:
There are no worthwhile SU demons with fixed cursed.
In a discussion about Bind Demon, I inherently disqualify any demon that isn't an aggressive melee one and/or that wastes half his time casting pointless low dmg hydras or Inferno or the like. :p

On a side note, it is strange that while Fallen shamans and vile mothers can create more minions, Fetish shamans can't Revive normal Fetish and Achmel the Cursed can't raise undead (while a gloam firing squad would be funny, though that last one is definitely getting patched.)
Otherwise, getting a good Hephasto almost feels mandatory as a base (and means you only need a lvl 10 Bind Demon if you just want the aura, since he already has spectral hit and aura Enchant).
Presently running him on a fire warlock with stoneskin and cursed.

Can't recall exactly the specifics but the general theory was that it already gave its life and swore loyalty to Mephisto, thus will not obey anyone else or whatever it was.
Also the best-in-slot Bind Demon would have to be a unique Venom lord with aura/cursed from Furnace (Izzy ubers portal). It is naturally immune to nearly everything (sometimes literally everything) and is far beefier than Heph too.
Heph is just often the most preferred due to how easy it is to find and roll for a good one.
There isn't THE bis Demon to bind. It depends on your build. Some need Conviction, some need Fanaticism, some Concentration etc.

Fire Warlock doing density clearing/statue hunting doesn't care that much if Heph/Venom lord can smash. What only matters is if he can take hit while carrying Conviction.

You're absolutely right about Heph but it doesn't make him the best, it only makes him the easiest go-to since it's easier to roll for him than the Venom Lord. I'd even argue that the mentioned guest mob Lancer with same fana/cursed mods in A5 is better than Heph because her Jab can literally solo Uber Tristram faster, provided that you supply Life Tap via Wand.
Realistically though I agree with the both of you since bound demons are mostly unkillable in almost all content. Though if we're focusing on the absolute best, Ubers demon takes the cake.
