It should be noted that the "blinding" mechanic of both Dim Vision and Cloak of Shadows functions by altering the AI of the affected units. One of the lesser-known effects of this AI alteration is that the affected units will not use any attacks or skills other than a basic Attack.
This helmet is a great fit for a Bowazon playing Hardcore. You can significantly reduce the danger in many situations by casting Cloak of Shadows first, and then shooting the monsters down. The Baal waves can be easily dealt with by casting Cloak of Shadows right at the beginning of each wave. The same applies for the CS seal pop monster packs. When you enter a room/level with lots of monsters with might aura you simply cast CoS, only the unique or super unique will not be impactecd. Your amp damage or Decrepify procs will overwrite the CoS on monsters, but once this happens these monsters are doomed anyway. The radius of the CoS charges is more than sufficent with 20 yards to cripple monsters in an entire room/area. Plus the charges are very cheap to repair. For hardcore the CoS is also a very good emergency spell.
