Description
It is by far the most broken class and build in the whole game, no other class comes close to it's
performance compared to it's item requirement . You can take a naked Javason with blue javelins into Hell cow
and absolutely destroy the cows with no effort.
Meanwhile, a poison necro or hammerdin or any sorc doesn't even come close to the Destruction
even when having "endgame" items . It feels like no matter which class and build you make,
they're all a waste of time and effort if you want to farm cowlvl , compared to javasons.
You can buy a +3skill 20ias Javelin in town vendor , and this weapon is better at killing cows
than anything you can get on any other character and build.

Can be used to make Runewords:

because this game is not balanced? lol.
there's some builds that are broken as shit and other that are worthless.

Nah, Phoenix Strike Assassin takes the cake on this one.
And any necro with Corpse Explosion (which should be any of them) murders the cow level.

Also, Hell cow level isn't the only endgame content available. Can your naked Javazon do Pandemonium Event?
The Secret Cow Level itself is broken. There are no immunes there (save for The Cow King and some uniques), and all the cows are slow and docile. Luckily, the area level is only 81, so it's not the endgame farming area. The drops are still too good for such an easy zone, though.
Speaking of builds, Hammerdin used to be the broken build. Virtually no magic immunes, and for long time even most of those, as demons or undead, were ignored (until patch 1.13).
Javazon, a single element build, while excelling at the cow level, used to be limited by immunes in other areas (as any other build). At least some of the lightning immunes could be broken, but only with expensive endgame gear (read: Infinity).
Patch 2.5 broke even this. Immunes, the last hard counter, has been invalidated by the Sunder mechanic.

Yeah pretty much. Ain't no naked Javazon with blue javelins lasting more than 5 seconds against Uber Meph. Or even a pack of souls with Conviction aura.Nekeyby wrote: 1 week agoAlso, Hell cow level isn't the only endgame content available. Can your naked Javazon do Pandemonium Event?

I dont know if I'd say "invalidated", especially if youre just playing through the game SSF. Sunder charms don't become accessible until completion of Hell difficulty and req level 75, and at that point you still have sometimes lots of TZ farming to do. And even then, if you dont have a ton of gear with -X% enemy resist, youre still gonna have just as hard of a time with immunes. 95% resist might as well still be immune, which is also why magic sunder is so useless.Trang Oul wrote: 1 week agoThe Secret Cow Level itself is broken. Such gear usually isnt cheap either, especially if playing SSF. Good luck getting a Flickering Flame Helm and Phoenix shield for your offline fire sorc without some serious grinding, or a Doom for your cold sorc. I've been playing this game since release and I've never seen a Death's Web or a Griffon's drop either.

To sum up:
Is Lightning Fury Java zon a top-tier build ? Yes, absolutely !
Is it the only one ? No, Nova sorc, Mosaic Sin, Hammerdin, ... are also top end
And évaluating a build is not easy: for cows, Javas are nuts, but for other contents, not that much.
On the contrary, my Bone Necro can do absolutely any contents of the game, but will definitely do it way slower. Depending on how you wanna play, this or that build will be better suited.

Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
Love the Bone necro build. You wanna talk about a build with great survivability and decent kill speed that isnt the glass cannon that so many sorc builds are, there it is.Necrarch wrote: 1 week agoTo sum up:

SP is a different beast. Everything is difficult to obtain, at least before you're overleveled and have completed the game.BigD wrote: 1 week agoI dont know if I'd say "invalidated", especially if youre just playing through the game SSF. (...)
But on BN? Nobody is giving away HRs or Griffons or Phoenices (unless maybe just before the ladder reset), yet Sunder charms are so common and easily obtaintable that players do give them away for free, especially ones with a bad roll. Had they been rare and difficult to obtain, I wouldn't complain.
And not all -enemy res items are prohibitively expensive, such as Crescent Moon or Rainbow Facet. Even Facets with bad rolls are valuable: with no -enemy res you deal 5% damage, and even with the worst Facet you deal 8% - 1.6× more! That's still only 8%, you're still going to stuggle, but at least you won't be completely stuck, as you would if monsters were immune.
For cold sorc it's a non-issue, because of the Cold Mastery.
And prior to D2R, a whole bunch of runewords, including Infinity, were only on battlenet and not available on open or single player. Some enemies were just unkillable walls with no options to defeat.Trang Oul wrote: 1 week agoThe Secret Cow Level itself is broken. Oh, you're right; I forgot how limited SP (and NLD) were before D2R.RackAnewShoe wrote: 1 week agoAnd prior to D2R, a whole bunch of runewords, including Infinity, were only on battlenet and not available on open or single player. Some enemies were just unkillable walls with no options to defeat.
What is worse, those essential immunity breakers were unavailable on SP, where you're on your own. And on BN you can obtain such OP items and get help from other players playing different builds.
I wish it was the opposite, that the OP items were treated as "cheats"/developer items and available on SP only, but not on BN to incentivize playing together.
A Chain Lightning sorc will also cut through cows, obliterate any crowded areas such as TZ Chaos. So it's becoming clear that the girls are the bad boys in D2r.
Unless one of those cows swings a big wooden stick at her and grazes her, then she's dead instantly.mhlg wrote: 5 days agoA Chain Lightning sorc will also cut through cows, obliterate any crowded areas such as TZ Chaos. So it's becoming clear that the girls are the bad boys in D2r.

Generally speaking they're not durable compared to almost every other class. I'm biased i guess because ive had a sorc build get 1 shotted in so many different TZs I can't even name them all. Almost every other class has better survivability with all other factors being equal. I won't deny they're fun to play, but lately the squishiness of most sorc builds has turned me off from it.mhlg wrote: 5 days agoNot my sorc, she's pretty durable. Ask Jeff Besos? I dno? They die easily even w// SS. Hmmm I use to on 1.09 roll a colossus bow. Never got over 75 ed and it wasn't very fast bowzon. my friend got a Windforce I believe on 1.08?
Here's a Javazon having fun with Stygian Dolls in Durance.
Here's a Bowazon tanking the counsel in Travincal. Notice neither the Javazon nor Strafezon dies easily!
