Fire sorc questions

I've never done a fire sorc, but I found a 3 fire ball Ormus tonight with 15 percent fire skill damage so I started looking it up.

Would it be better to try a fire sorc with Ormus, eschuta / hoto / occy, Flickering Flame

Or I've seen some builds online that use 4 piece Tal Rasha plus Flickering Flame for -30 enemy fire res plus more mf, def, life.
I have sunder but offline I don't have Infinity yet.

Also, I've seen Fireball Meteor builds and Fireball Hydra. Any recommendations?

Fire Sorceress can be quite strong if you synergize the main fire skills. In my case I went for Fire Ball, Meteor and Hydra. It's probably my strongest character.

I used a partial Tal-Rasha's set (more on that below) with Flickering Flame until switching to Eschuta's with Raindow Facet. Doing so needs merc with Infinity, though. It can de done with a Sunder charm, which you already have, so I think you'll be fine without Infinity.

My Tal-Rasha's setup had the orb, Belt, and amulet. This grants the orb -15% enemy fire res, which adds up to Flickering Flame. Armor is Skin of Vipermagi, absolutely amazing for almost every sorceress. But your perfectly rolled Ormus is very nice, too. If you can sort your resistances, I can't see a good reason to not make it your best-in-slot armor.

You can finish Hell with a single element even without Sunder charms, just need a little patience in some areas. But considering you will melt everything that's not fire resistant, I think it's a nice trade-off.

Fireball sorc is my all time favorite char. Just max all synergies and you will still have some skill points left over for other things. When Meph dies from 3 FBs, you don't even care to cast Meteor, left alone something as weak as Hydra. You can put them in Telekinesis and have Memory or ES-CTA on swap.

The default armor for FB sorc is viper with facet. I went with CoH because I prefer the looks.

Ormus us only better than viper if you are maxing and there things get interesting. Phoenix Monarch is super strong. Flickering Flame is a must. You want to hit 105 fcr and with 0 fcr in shield and helmet, every bit counts.

With Ormus, you are also lacking all res, so maybe you want to consider Energy Shield? Then a pair of Sandstorm Trek and Cure on Merc solves your most pressing res issue.

Hoto is the best weapon but I don't like the looks of it either. Eschutas is similar to Ormus: Max damage but little else. Oculus goes extremely well with Phoenix since you Teleport away and get recharged from Salvation. You are also lacking fhr from Spirit, so Oculus helps you get out of Stun lock. Suddenly this annoying auto Teleport becomes good. I was quite surprised when I figured this out.

You will also want a 15 fcr amulet with oculus or 5 for with Hoto / Eschutas so that you can use 2 SoJ.

tl;dr:
- Ormus is lacking res, consider ES.
- Fireball (with full synergies) is strong enough on its own, no need for any other offensive skill
- Phoenix is super strong for fire sorc but lacks fcr, res, and fhr.

Went with Chains of Honor, Phoenix, Eschuta's Temper, Flickering Flame, Magefist. Boots, rings, amulet, charms to reach 105 FCR, max res and decent MF.

Skillwise went with Fireball + Meteor. Fireball is main DMG source in most cases as it is strong on its own, fast and spammable. Occasional Meteor for satisfaction to hit the timing just right to clear Baal waves or hit a moving mob.

Overall, fire sorc feels both powerful and safe in all areas

I dont have any soj or Phoenix yet on single player so I'm a bit limited there.
My first Jah will be going to an Enigma, but whenever I get another it will be going to a Phoenix shield for javazon that I could share around
