it's MAGIC, no need to explain shit.
should be either 8 (2^3), 27 (3^3), or 64 (4^3) slots
It should be 8 slots since itās a cube with a side length of 2. The only way it gets 16 slots is if itās the Horadric Tesseract.
Wouldn't have room to craft

Horadric Cube is just a secret chest
(3 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet, constructed from rare materials worth 5,000+ GP, and a Tiny replica of the chest made from the same materials worth 50+ GP) thus 12=3x2x2

Oh, c'mon, it's an ancient artifact. I'm pretty sure the Horadrim could've made a cube with side length 2ā2 slots. Or 2ā2Ćcis(2Ļ/3) or 2ā2Ćcis(-2Ļ/3) - a bit complex, indeed...tatarjj wrote: 3 weeks agoIt should be 8 slots since itās a cube with a side length of 2. Letās just be honest here, charms should have their own, charm-only inventory, and only in the charm-only inventory would they be equipped and active. Charms in the regular inventory would do nothing. Also would solve the annoyances of not bring able to pick up more than one Hellfire Torch, Gheeds or Annihilus, because you could hold as many as you want in your regular inventory but only one of each in your charms inventory. And no one would be wishing for a 4x4 Horadric Cube.
The design choice the original D2 devs made to make charms take up your regular inventory space and become a quality of life vs character power trade off was a terrible choice, players should never have to Sacrifice quality of life in this way to make their characters stronger. Thatās not a modern sentiment, Iāve felt exactly the same since I started playing LoD in 2001 as a 16-y-o.

I think they wanted to shoot two birds with one Stone: give players more ways to continue improving itemization while making use of that "wasted" inventory space (because players don't really pick up much stuff at higher levels, which is what charms are really aimed for). If you're going to give charms their own inventory, I'd just remove them from the game. At that point, charms don't really add anything other than power, with no real decisions.tatarjj wrote: 2 weeks agoLetās just be honest here, charms should have their own, charm-only inventory, and only in the charm-only inventory would they be equipped and active. Not that I love charms as they are, but if we're assuming that we're making the game from scratch and we want players to have more ways to itemize without crippling their inventory, then I'd just use a different system. For example, charms could become consumables that you use to add stats to your equipment. That way, you keep the "give players ways to continue optimizing in the end game" while at least adding some new dimension to your equipment (which is really where the cool items are), rather than it being a no brainer that you just fill up your "charm inventory" with the strongest charms you find and be done with it.
Median XL challenges - by having unique charms only.vued wrote: 2 weeks agoProject Diablo agrees.tatarjj wrote: 2 weeks agoLetās just be honest here, charms should have their own, charm-only inventory, and only in the charm-only inventory would they be equipped and active.
