Fortitude vs Chains of honor

I' m looking for best possible chest runeword for WW Barb and to be honest I can't decide.
Forti offers tons of defence and very good boost to damage, extra life and dmg goes to mana.
CoH however gives +2 to skills, extra dmg vs demons and undead, tons of res and dmg reduction.

Currently I have Duress which gives 40 FHR (that is missing in those above) and those nice crushing blow and open wounds.

As a weapon I have Oath in etheral

Champion Axe with pretty good ED roll.

I saw also that Forti is super usefull for strafezon.

Let me know pls what you think.

Chains of Honor is better for ubers but I prefer Enigma for the rest which provide more flexibility.

Chains of Honor is a great defensive runeword. It also provides good dmg bonus against demons and undead.

With that said, if you can get the +All Resist to Uber levels (i.e. 240%) without CoH, then Fortitude can be more effective for DPS.

The first time I went to Uber Tristam, my merc had a Fortitude. He died instantaneously. With Chains of Honor, I was able to kill Uber Meph with him alive by just handing a couple of Full Rejuvenation potions. Really factor that in when choosing between the two.

Ber so Enigma does not count. For now at least. But what about +skills on a WW Barb? I think he does not benefit from that much compared to raw enhanced dmg and def. And BTW what is the best way to get

Ber? My idea for now is to make them from ISTs since I can trade pgems for them very quickly.
And what bases do you recommend for Forti i CoH for a WW Barb?

Damage boost from forti is rather meh on WW-Barb. If you can't afford Enigma, go Chains of Honor. But do it in something like

Archon Plate or

Dusk Shroud, so it has some resale value for e.g. sorces. Also, if you do

Travincal with ww alot, Chains of Honor is way better as the

Conviction aura from council, especially on terrorized, might be a pain in the a** even for barb with its Resist passive.
PS: +Skill on Barb is also good because it boosts passives and

Battle Orders = more survivability

If the thing you want most is damage, then Fortitude is best. For most uses of

Whirlwind barb, Enigma is best. If you are focused on magic find, then Fortitude can actually be bad because it can shatter corpses.

CoH gives you considerably less damage than Fortitude with considerably more bulk. This may have niche uses, but it’s also very expensive, so it doesn’t make sense unless you have a very specific build in mind. Save that

That's not that simple.
With CoH you can focus on full damage on the rest of your stuff and don't care about res.

In exemple, you can replace

Arreat's Face with

Guillaume's Face.
Add a Lawbringer on your Merc then you will erase demons and undeads.

I apparently live in a parallel universe where I’ve never found arreats necessary for res, and I always run gface

OP, my point is that the most important thing is figuring out what you care about most. Then go that route with your build
