Sorc aren't that good in PvP cause it's easy to absorb their damages.
When playing sorc against physical enemy, you better have to focus on max block instead of trying to get 300 more def with switch.
Well, you could do both, but switch is annoying, even in PvP. So it has to provide a real benefit.
