Damage absorb on elite armors?

Hi,
So lately i am obsessed with damage reduction and absorb.

I found an ancient post from 2008 that claims some Elite armors (e.g.

Kraken Shell,

Archon Plate) have a hidden damage absorb visible in the editor only, see here:

Can someone with technical lnowledge of the game confirm if this is true?

Long ago before Resurrected I fiddled with Diablo 2 mpq files, those huge tables. And yes, I noticed for armors an additional column saying "reduce dmg" (or similar). However, it doesn't mean this data actually affects anything. I was somewhat interested and tried to check this directly in game, but didn't notice any difference for several armor types. So it might be just dummy which never got implemented. Also, here is the quote from Fandom wiki:

Apparently Blizzard had intended this attribute [damage reduced by X] to be standard on some Body Armors, but this idea was dropped.

Unfortunately, this quote doesn't come with any source or proof.
