XP struggle aka how to host TZ96 games as p8

Hello guys,

20-25years ago I had a Dream to make lvl99 in this awesome game. I have always failed with this Dream. This season I have the perfect opportunity to do so. In work there is a window for me with very little to work on. I am not distracted by anything else and I can focus on my goal. And thanks to RW Mosaic I have machine gun to kill monsters by thousands. Honestly I think this is my first and also last chance to complete my Dream.

But I am struggling so hard to get XP, XP bar is just not moving, unless I do p8 TZ and even then its barely moving.

Yesterday I made amazing 71,7mil XP !!! I was lucky to play TZ CS and also TZ WSK (I managed to get more XP from CS than from baalruns - 25mil XP compare to 24mil XP). And I even played TZ

Tal Rasha which I was unlucky to get p8 so it was mostly p1, few tombs as p2 and even less as p3 and still got 15mil XP from it. But then ppl joined and were happy to do split farm this amazing TZ, but after minute or two they just left.

Many of those players had Enigma, so they are rich, so they should be able to clear TZ96 p2 easily. But they kept leaving.

Why ppl dont wanna play this insane TZ? Is it because this TZ is super hard to clear? I always loved

Tal Rasha TZ even with all of my previous characters. I dont think difficulty is the reason why.

Do I really need to just baby sit them so we go together like kids in kindergarden on a walk with their teacher?

I gave up on picking anything in those public games I host. Yes I still really hate those leechers who are just picking stuff after I kill everything, but if thats the price of getting more XP at this point I am really OK to do so.

So far the only way how to get players to join my game is to create game "Itelebaal01" and once I got there I TP out and go to TZ. Because I do play Assassin which has terrible frames, its kinda painfull especially when there is some leecher who clears TZ before I get to throne (if TZ is small).

How do you get your XP? Whats the secret behind it? Yesterday I hosted "TZ96 01" up to 124, through entire day and it was p8 only during TZ CS and WSK.

Baal, is their idea of playing the game really just AFK in baalruns?

I am rushing XP a lot, I just started like 2-3weeks after season start. My daily goal is to get 30mil XP daily I even created excel spreadsheet to help me focus to motivate me to push harder.
Since I set my goal to lvl99 I begun to watch ladder ranking and I am still climbing if I will be lucky to get 70mil XP daily then I think top 500 is doable, but thats just Dream because TZ are unpredictable.

I am really open to any ideas how to get last 300mil XP fastest.

I was once told the experience required from 98 to 99 is the same as 1 to 98.

Nothing special about hitting 99 other than showing you have no life :'D
But its a lot of work, good luck. I have no hints how to get xp fast other than p8 terrorized.

So just try to find those "I cow u MF" games and hope host will be high level

I was very lucky now since I made this post with finding good host the more I complain the more I get back from game I will try to get to 99 till friday, but I can get easily bored if unlucky with finding game or bad TZ when I can play

Yeah I heard that too that lvl98 is basicly middle in terms of number of monsters killed

I play offline and it helps me to go to the shrine location and see if is any one XP Shrine.
Online is a gamble, you never know where you find one. Bu if you can

Teleport you can "scan" the map and if you find one, grab it and then go for the

Terror Zone. It sucks when you have a XP one activated and the first pack of unique monster is cursed

Yeah offline is way easier because of it, you can just type /players8 and you can play all day long. Regarding XP shrine, well if its there I take it, if not then not.

Anyway posting my progress here: Today I did 50CS runs while TZ, and got almost 20mil XP, yesterday at lvl97 I did 45runs and got 25mil XP.

82mil XP today, hoping for more if good TZ will be after

If I keep up 70mil daily, I will reach 99 by friday. Top 500 on ladder is still doable, today only 7 new 99s in last 12hours.

today I have hosted 123games and joined kurast during "I tele

Baal" and did 112mil XP I just have to keep up doing this no-life madness for two more days

I got luck in the morning I found new friend who was rushing and all big TZ I did basicly with same ppl

Its insane to me how people get to lvl 99 by 3rd day of ladder

I finally finished game !!!

well now I understand it how can do it so fast. Really. I had no party as this topic said. Noone was making TP for baals, nila, dia for me to kill. With those big boosts I can really understand how it can be done within 4-5days.

I hosted about 150-200games per day since 4.8. - if you played on EU you might see those games "XPfarmTZ96 001" and if there was game like "I cow u not" and TZ was free I was grinding TZ.

5.8. I was lvl 97 missing 12mil XP for 98. According to diablo2.io I made first post here with lvl97 and server says "posted 2days ago"
now 30mins after midnight 8.8. I am finally lvl99 so I needed 2,5days to get from 98 to 99. I did work 5hrs during this time. And I slept normally 6-7hrs (no alarm) and watched 4episodes of Wednesday on Netflix and one other movie (all that during bad TZ). Yeah there was no real life those 4days.
This is how I tracked my progress: all TZ below 10mil XP werent full. And during both WSK today I forget to write down XP at start of TZ, so its not much accurate.

If you clear fast (or your party) you can get 20mil XP I think per hour all the time, except few bad zones.

As you can see I did 19,3mil XP during flayer as p8. I did poop

Baal TZ a bit.

And that "tz before" is when I died by using

wau thanks ! I didnt knew those stats existed. But its not 100% accurate. I did die at lvl98 yesterday

Yeah, since Blizzard has no official API that can be queried, I think what d2emu does is it actually "watches" the ladder (pretty much same as you do yourself when you click the "Ladder" tab in the lobby), and extract information from what it "sees", and it will only do so every so often. It tracks deaths by noticing that you lost XP from the last check, but if you can recover all the lost XP before the next "check" then it won't know that you died. I think it only checks once an hour. It's still a pretty cool feature of d2emu, even if it's not 100% perfect

Yeah, checking ladder makes sense. That didnt crossed my mind. But if player didnt do any TZ it doesnt track him. I confirmed it with my friend who wasnt there, then I lured him into TZ and he was there.

Yeah deaths are based on XP before and after TZ if u manage to get more XP than you lost you wont get Death icon.

But why its tracking only if players played TZ that I dunno.

if my theory is correct, I did get lvl on my other char named "daf" lvl31 paladin in current hell TZ under my bnet tag.

Some players are tracked form lvl68 some from 90

There are some organized groups non Discord that do multiple daily group runs. There are usually several multiple group runs at a time so it's not hard to get hooked up to one. The downside is they're on the Americas sever. If you're interested here is an invite link.

What I do is host IteleUBaal games. I will tele to Throne, TP, all the leechers come in (some folks will DPS) and then I will just go TZ until they kill minions/

Baal. Then we make a NG. If you get a solid group of DPS you can make the runs private so no other TZ leechers come to ruin it for you.
