More CB would have been nice, otherwise very happy with these.
It's just because this thread is about lucky drops etc, there is also another thread about fail drops where you'd feel not very unlucky to not get any useful stuffs for a while.Semirotta wrote: 6 months agoIt makes me both sad and happy to see everybody getting magnificent drops. Sad because I can never get any as RNG hates my sorry ass, but happy because people get good stuff and that makes me happy.
When I play alone; no drops what so ever. When I play with someone or in a public game with more than one player with me; drops always come for the people. Im some sort of a good luck charm, bad luck for myself ( which ive grown used to by now ) and good luck for the rest of the people around me.
Maybe you saw my post here about getting 20/15 Griffon's Eye. Well, a few runs before that my L92 hammerdin died because I was sloppy with Fanaticism aura
Being killed at this level is worse than not getting useful stuffs for days.
Cheers mate
Good lord how much does something like that sell for.

First this 4 pointer. At first glance nothing special (missing f.e. high life, mana and/or leeching) but have a look on that low level 16 requirement!
A few minutes later an Arachnid Mesh.

Oh right, forgot singleplayer can just cheat and change players 8 and pretend they have full game. No wonder people get all the good stuff. Just try to play alone with p1 online and you wont get sh-t.
Singleplayer also seems to be easier to get drops no matter what, even with p1.

I can assure you, playing p1 is absolutely okay for finding stuff. You find fewer items, but your killspeed is higher. I found most high runes and many good uniques/bases on solo games.Semirotta wrote: 6 months agoOh right, forgot singleplayer can just cheat and change players 8 and pretend they have full game. For online players there is an option called "split mf" games.
Last but not least, there's trading, which is the most impactful difference to singleplayer.
Who are you referring to? I'm playing P1 on bnet 99% of the time and found a lot of "sh-t"

Ive found only couple of hrs and I used to play a lot. Just gave up on diablo 2 long time ago and never going to put as much hours into it so its very likely never will find these things anymore because of it. With players 8, sure it would be easier im sure as I dont kill bosses anyway (singer is slow af for boss kills, its idiotic how slow it is)
Yes, you can still find loot if youre lucky. I am not. Or play unnatural amount of hours, which I do not.

HCNL : Hardcore non ladder .... means online, i have no other choice than P1 ... unless of course i join "split mf games". But 99.999999 % of the time i play online alone, and every single HRs, rare drop i had was on this mode, since it is the only way i play D2R.
Other people pointed it, you have many ways to get gear/stuff, and the most efficient is trading. Gathering perf amethysts, Perfect Gems, rals, hels, etc will allow you to trade very good runes. Collecting keys is another way to trade HRs, many people will pay Jah or Ber for 3 or 4 keysets. List goes on, even if you don't drop the superduper stuff while you play, you still drop few things, and spending time trading is always rewarding. Then of course, you can count on luck, or i'd rather say statistics, i'll take Travincal as an example : run it 10000 times, and you'll drop HRs. Why ? cause it is the way this game works. And i experimented it, i ran Travincal ad nauseum, i ran Chaos zones ad nauseum, i farmed keys ad nauseum, etc, and now all my characters are equipped with those "Dream" builds you can see on youtube. That spearzon dropped a Ber the first hell game i created after combining an Infinity, and she has griffon, COH, mara torch anni etc ... I dropped some of her stuff (griffon, check this thread few pages back i posted the screenshot of that drop, cause it was my first ever griffon), but most of her stuff come from trades. Playing HCNL, trade is slow, but people will try to help you if they can, really. I often give free stuff, and often received free stuff, just check for giveaways.
Yeah good luck with the mf split games or mf games in public overall as they are operated by bots and has more than enough pickup script/bot users. In public games ive always failed to pick up anything of value as they instantly disappear.
Better just be alone so no need to fight for the loot
Also I dont even run 1000 travis in one full season. Not even in two... I dont play that much. Hence why I cant get anything good usually.

I always open public "split mf" games on my regular farms, and never had problems with people stealing my things

But I mostly play solo on those multiplayers games (each player in a different area
).
Just be aware of Diablo Clone spawning...
When this happens sometimes "bad players" sneak on every open game to steal Annihilus

In special pay attention if someone joins your game just after the message, specially if they just stay in town.... (Maybe waiting for your portal, when you go back to put your Annihilus on the shared stash to pick the new one
)

Same here. No bots there, and if you get chilled players, you can stay a while playing and chatting.fredkid wrote: 6 months agoI always open public "split mf" games on my regular farms, and never had problems with people stealing my things

If a DC happens to spawn in an open game, I immediately go to Lower Kurast wp, run down to the entrance and activate the clone at Stormtree's place.fredkid wrote: 6 months agoJust be aware of Diablo Clone spawning...

Nobody ever looks there.
While levelling an assa in NM Flayer Jungle i actually had a Lem drop.
If i'm reading correctly, that's the highest rune that can drop there...
I'm not sure if that's ever happened me before to any rune outside of normal(ie lowend runes).

I found the advise to trigger Dclone by going back to palace from Arcane Sanctuary WP/portal to be THE best way.
Killed my 3rd dclone this morning there.
And did it just by spamming hydras into the portal room.
I think you need to adjust your expectations to what you do. I play extremely sub-optimally and I've found plenty of stuff, it just takes longer. Luck doesn't exist, it's just a matter of averages over time. If you frame it as "I'm unlucky" you're just going to live in constant frustration. And, with a game where so much depends on randomness, it's really easy to find plenty of data points you can use to confirm that perspective. The most important thing, I think, is whether you're getting enjoyment out of it or not, and that depends heavily on why you play. Do you play to get items? Or to get a sense of achievement? To have something to tweak and tinker with? Or do you play to chill/have fun?Semirotta wrote: 6 months agoYeah good luck with the mf split games or mf games in public overall as they are operated by bots and has more than enough pickup script/bot users. I know that I play D2 to tune out when my brain's a bit fried, so I want to play with extremely low pressure and do things exactly as I want to do them, regardless of whether that's "correct." For example, I don't carry my cube around because I just find it cumbersome to manage my inventory that way, I don't play Sorceress or Paladin because I don't enjoy those classes, I don't grind the same thing a million times because that'd be too tedious to be relaxing, I don't use CTA on swap because I don't like re-buffing all the time, I don't mind going back to town a bunch of times to sell random stuff because I like the loop of "kill things -> chill in town," and so on. Additionally, I only trade for runes, gems, and keys, and I play about 2 hours a day and not even every day. Given all that, my expectations can't be that high, but after about a year of playing, there's not much I'm missing.
Anyway, I don't want to be like "hey, just relax and have fun" because that's not useful, but I do think it's important to try to be aware of how much of what you get out of an activity like a game depends on what your expectations and perspective are when you sit down to play. And to take the hint when you're getting more frustration than enjoyment out of an activity that you're presumably doing to have fun.
From now on I am going to look right there, I promiseDasNarf wrote: 6 months ago
