Replacements for the "Battle.net" desktop/app client
Hi
Don't know if is only with me.. but the "Battle.net" desktop/app client is a total crap... it crashes frequently in the middle of a chat, almost never recovers from connection problems (need to restart it), is extremely slow and heavy (specially on the cellphone...)
Is there some other alternative to chat with other Battle.net users?

Don't think so.
As alternative, you can chat from in game.
I agree with you, battle.net client is pure trash very affected by updates.

My timezone is CET/UTC+1.
While I have nearly no problems with the desktop program the andoid app is unusable - at least on my phone...
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)
Time Zone: UTC/GMT +1/+2 (Germany)
Online workdays: casually from 07:00-09:00 pm
Online weekends: casually midday to evening
Non-Ladder | Softcore | Expansion

At least twice I fully reinstalled it as it was failing too hard. Dunno if it will be any better but you may try.
Ps. Not much better on phone neither indeed.

Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
It will also hang in a "Playing Now" state long after the game has ended with no way to recover from this besides a PC restart.
Eastern Standard Time.
OP
My biggest issues are:
- rarely recover from connections problem (including your notebook hibernating...), you have to restart
- sometimes crash when you send a message (generally after you typed a huge text...)
(I started to copy some messages before send because of that...)
- on cellphone the app it is REALLY REALLY slow and seems to "restart" each time you remove focus...

Feel like everyone on the planet communicates via Discord these days. Agree with your thoughts on the Battle.net app it's not good. These clients serve to promote products not enhance gameplay experience.
OP
Do Discord (or another similar software) integrates with battle.net network?
(so you can talk with another battle.net accounts and see their status?)

Yeah you can connect the Battle.net account with your Discord account. But it doesn't like, pull your Bnet friends automatically into discord. It's more unidirectional versus bi, in that you'll see on Discord whether or not your Discord friends are playing Diablo II Resurrected (for example). And that functionality only works if the Discord user opens up permissions to share when they are playing a certain game.fredkid wrote: 7 months agoDo Discord (or another similar software) integrates with battle.net network?

I've never had any issues with the PC app, but the Android app is complete trash in a burning dumpster.
Usually looking for Runes, Essences, PGems, Tokens, Keys, etc.
