Description

I've got level 19
Energy Shield
(base 6) and 17
Telekinesis
(base 4). But mana consumption is still 175%. According to the tables i found consumption should be on the l00% already.
Is it supposed to be like that or something is wrong?

Can be used to make Runewords:

If I am not mistaken, only the hard points in
Telekinesis
count for the synergy with
Energy Shield
.

So it only takes the 4 points in account, not the 13 extra points from gear.

ShadowMonk is correct, only hard points in
Telekinesis
count (referred to as “base” on the skill tooltip in-game). Synergies typically only take hard points into account, with only a few exceptions (synergies between Druid summon skills).

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

That's also why on
Energy Shield
(ES) sorcs, you usually see lots of points in
Telekinesis
(reduces the "cost" of being hit overall) and less on
Energy Shield
(changes how what you have to pay is splitted between Mana and Life pools), typically 20 hard points in TK and some points in ES to reach a good enough level (e.g. 20 points including your + skills gets you at 75% balance, 25 at 80%).

And as this includes skills, you can even use something like Memory (in a +3 ES base) on swap weapon to get a free +9 points, cast ES then swap back (that's what I do on my own ES sorc, with only 5 points in the skill itself I cast at level 30 so 85% balance ! - you can't use Call To Arms though).

A typical ES-Sorc hires an act 2
Prayer
merc geared with an Insight polearm and a Cure helm. This should solve all mana problems, gives you a triple healing and the only leftover dangerous damage source (poison) is removed in seconds.

For low items I also accept: Perfect Amys,
Ral
,
Hel
, Tokens, Keys. Please don't offer runes lower than
Pul
(with the named exceptions).

It should be noted that its the combination of fast life regen thru
Prayer
and the reduced curse duration from Cure that lets you laugh at psn. I tried Cure on a might merc and the result was rather disapointing with the psn skeletal magi wrecking me every time. With such a merc, high
Telekinesis
and
Energy Shield
there are only three kinds of true enemies left: Succubi casting blood mana, the notorious will-o-wisps and, of course, stygian dolls.

Prayer
merc also has the advantage, that you don't need lifesteal on him. Going Fortitude-Cure-Insight works well even on terrorized 96

Post ur offer before adding me. No PM. Only add me if u offer bin/lf. No reply after 3 days=offer rejected

Agreed, with Infinity self wielded, that works extremely well for
Nova
sorcs - I currently play mine with that exact setup and Memory on swap.

Not sure on lightning /
Chain Lightning
ones though, I am usually NOT a sorc expert.

Still, when jumping in the middle of a pack, you're way safer with 20 points in TK :)

I tend to think that anyway the points on
Nova
sorc are super easy to place and do not have that many spot for improvisation : 1 in
Warmth
, 1 in
Frozen Armor
, 1 in all lightning skills except 20
Nova
, 20 Static, 20 Mastery, 20
Telekinesis
, all remainder if you don't go to 99 on Thunderstorm (and falls sharp on 110 if maxed, neat).
Energy Shield
is at 26 when cast with Memory on swap so not needed to go above 1 point (I prefer to keep 1 if I need to cast in emergency without swapping) while my build is not fully optimized ("only" 5 skiller GCs).

Or am I wrong thinking it is THAT easy ? Perhaps some people add more points in ES to make room for a CtA instead of Memory ?

Only played once (before respeccing to
Nova
), can't say much to it.

When using ES, maxing TK is mandatory in my view, whatever merc or gear you are using. This is what makes it hard for some builds even considering ES, Blizzard sorc comes to mind.

Depends on your resistances for example. If you have bad resists, bringing ES to a high level is good, because resistances only work for damage to life.

If you have maxed resists, CtA may be better overall.

For a
Nova
sorc, CTA is better than Memory imho since she has nothing better to do with those skill points anyways. The boost you get from CTA for both life and mana is insane. And CTA adds +1 to all skills which boost damage, ES,
Warmth
, ... as well.

Memory makes sense if you have a Barb in your party, you cannot afford CTA, or if you want to safe hard skill points (esp. if you don't the prereq skills amyways) to increase your offensive skills, e.g. for FB, Blizzard, FrOrb, ...

Enegma (

Bonus:
* Increase Maximum Life 5%
* +15% mana regeneration
* 8% physical resist
* Makes people look at you as if you were stupid
