I've seen this a couple times as well during my cow runs. I dont do a lot of runs but ive seen quite a few, so unfortunately i dont think this would hold too much value
Very rare, but not really valuable AFAIK.
The only use for a Wirt's Leg with sockets is: you accidentally socket it while moving item and... lose a Ber... 
Fun Fact: You can Imbue a no-socket Wirt's Leg. You can also make one magic through the cube recipe and then use it to craft.

Tir + Perfect Sapphire + Jewel + Magical Wirt's Leg to get a crafted Wirt's Leg.

You can force yourself to finish the entire game with Wirt's Leg only or some weird challenge like that... I do wonder if it's basically viable to make 2 crafted Wirt's as like a Frenzy Barb and then run around smacking stuff with 2 fricking legs?! xd Or maybe something like SS if you score that sweet +max dmg based on char level mod? One can wonder...
