I need help

I spent everything I had to make a Chains of Honor with the Sacred Armor base to use on my mercenary, now I discovered that the mercenary does not have enough strength.

My Chains of Honor Sacred Armor requires 232 strength.

The helmet I am using and have to use is Guillaume's Face, which only gives 15 strength, and the weapon I am using and have to use is Insight.

I play Summon Necromancer and I need the mercenary with some Crushing Blow, it is taking me too long to defeat the bosses without Crushing Blow on the mercenary, so I need to use Guillaume's Face on the mercenary so that he has the 35% Crushing Blow.

I even tried equipping an Andariel's Visage with 30 strength and then equipping the Chains of Honor, and then swapping the Andariel's Visage for Guillaume's Face, but the Chains of Honor stays in red, disabled.

I'm very frustrated.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Or does anyone need my Chains of Honor Sacred Armor that they can trade for a Chains of Honor Archon Plate, or a Chains of Honor Kraken Shell, or a Chains of Honor Dusk Shroud?

Or even want to buy it for a price below market?

I'll accept enough to be able to make another Chains of Honor with a base with less strength requirement.

An ethereal base for your merc you need.

Perfect Amethyst or Fal into Helmet. Change CoH for Treachery and Helm for Andariels until merc has 3 more strenght (think it will be in two levels), then swap Treachery for you CoH and Helm for the socketed Guillaumes. Lvl 92 is not that hard to reach. And get Insight in an Eth Polearm, by the way... will enhance survivability by increasing damage output by a lot. I think even the cheapest option, an Eth Colossus Voulge will be available with andy strenght-wise.

I forgot to repair the item after I created it, but I think mercenary items don't lose durability.

If you don't need Insight's Meditation too much, you may try Obedience (40% cb) on your merc and free the Helm Slot
(and Obedience has +10 str too )

Merc never looses dura. That's why an ethereal Andariels is worth so much more than a non- Eth (Althought the importance of def is often over-estimated and only kind of rich completists will insist on Eth andariels)

I tend to give merc a non- Eth Archon Plate coh as the resell value is more constant and the higher def is not that important imo. Fortitude is, due to its high def bonus and the rare usecase of wearing it on char, another thing.
Archon Plate also has the advantage of being a light armor making your merc run a little bit faster

or Hustle when on ladder, giving your summons fanatism aura if you havn't got a Beast allready

I like Insight because I don't need to use mana pots anymore, I was wasting a lot of time using mana pots.
Meditation is helping me with Teleport, Revive and Corpse Explosion.
Do you know how I can get a Guillaume's Face with 1 socket?
They're asking for 10 Jah Runes on the Traderie, I don't have all that.

Create new char, rush to Larzuk quest and punch in a socket yourself. Traderie price is propably that high because it's an upgraded Guillaumes close or at max def

And if you got Mana problems on nec, save some money for Stone of Jordan. Combined with Mage Fist or Frostburn, two Sojs fix most mana issues. Magic Rings with close to +120 mana are another cheap option

I don't know how the market is now, but I bought a Larzuk Socket Quest once for 2 Ist (way cheaper than 10 Jah)
And three times I trade a Larzuk Socket Quest Rush for another (somebody rush me than I rush him)

Are you L or NL? I'll socket quest your GF for you if needed. But yeah, always Eth bases for merc usually. I've got an Eth based Obedience Thresher lying around too somewhere, you can swap it out just to see how things feel/go.

My own solution to exactly the same, earlier today, while levelling my summon necro to be, was to make the Duress word in a Wyrmhide.
The combination with my Guillaume's Face, which has a jewel providing 15% IAS and +8 min dmg, is pretty darn good(probably going to replace that with a G'sF with a 15%IAS/30%dmg jewel i recently found). 50% CB combined with 33% open wounds is a nice combination.

And while i would love to have a CoH, Str 232 req would be a dealbreaker for me even if i could afford it. When i get a chance to make it, i will do it in a LIGHT elite armor.

Dunno about the socket, though there's several people on this site that sells instant socketing for and Ist or two and thereabouts. Do some runs for gems and you can pay for it within a week. Or of course, just start a "Sockpuppet" character, either a paladin using Holy Fire and if you have it, a lowend bow with explosive Arrows( Raven Claw on HF Paladin tears through normal extremely easy), or a sorceress and speedrun to A5 to get the socket quest.

As for getting another Guillaume itself, check the daily "Free" games on Normal difficulty(and all the variations on the name, sometimes there can be up to a halfdozen different games where people are dropping lots of stuff). It's not a frequently dumped item, as there's lots of good use for it, but the first one i got myself, was from that, and it's only a few weeks since i dropped one myself in such a game, as i was out of inventory space and already have as many as i need.

To resolve mana problems you can use an Iron Golem made from an Insight runeword. It will provide you Meditation and frees you weapon slot for Obedience or another weapon.

I do it with my Necro and is very effective. I have a Heart of the Oak as main weapon and Infinity for my merc ( Iron Golem allows to put the Infinity on merc instead of Insight).
I collect bases with 4 open sockets and stack the runes for one or two Insight s, just in case the golem dies.

You keep the golem when you leave the game. You only have to recreate when it dies so keep that in mind. If you ever respec, you want to make sure you first equip the amulet that gives you Iron Golem skills or you will lose it... ask me how I know

The idea of ​​equipping an amulet that gives Iron Golem is a trick to avoid losing the golem.
If you have an amulet or other item that gives bonuses to Iron Golem, you can temporarily use it before the respec, put 1 point into Iron Golem, and then remove the item without losing the golem.

There were people saying how the golem just vanishes on its own but if you use cheap base for Insight the loss is minimal.
