Description

Destruction, with its numerous chances to cast various elemental effects, is a very visually impressive weapon. With that said, the damage output of the skills on offer is lacking overall. In terms of the weapon itself, there are several other runewords - such as Obedience, Death, Grief, or Breath of the Dying - that provide greater benefits for a fraction of the cost.

With that said, Destruction does have niche uses.

Fire Claws Druids benefit from the synergy bonuses to the

Volcano and

Molten Boulder procs.

Blade Fury Assassins benefit from the Ignore Target Defense attribute and the combination of Crushing Blow and Deadly Strike.

Despite offering strong fixed bonuses and rich array of additional damage, this weapon is questionable - no valuable life leech + IAS to be useful for merc, no bonus aura, no useful curse proc... For it's very high price, it will remain unpopular.
