After I made that sweet -55infinity In a Scythe I had to give it a shot and I like it

Not tedious like I thought and pretty fast

How do you get to 105fcr tho?
I’ve got mage fist Arachnid Mesh griffins eye
And 2 soj and just at 84 fcr

Do you swap the soj for opalveins??

You will need 1x Crafted Amulet with 20% faster cast rate. And 2 Rings with 10% each.
Magefist 20%+ Arach 20% + Griffon 25% = 65% + 20+10+10= 105fcr Not considering armor

There are lots 10fcr rings. Opalvein Sling Manald Heal (ladder). Or Rare Magic.
I like to wear a 4 socketed armor with facets. No Que Hegan or Others.

All res is useless for a Nova ES Sorc. Does not work with ES. And ES must always be active.

Only some poison res matters. Add Cleansing Aura from Cure on your merc.

You should go with a socketed Vipermagi or Ormus.

Cold, Fire and Lightning res can be +95 or -100, all the same for an activated Energy Shield. Only when it fails because mana hits 0 do these res make a difference. But this case should never happen. The superior strategy is to prioritize mana and damage. That's also why SoJ is better than almost all gg rare 10 fcr rings. For mana regen go with Prayer Merc + Cure + Insight (the 3 auras synergize for triple regen)

I don't know who brought up the rumour that you don't need resists when using ES.

1. Damage is split between life and mana depending on ES level. Minimum damage to life is 5%. It never can be zero.

2. Resistances don't count for the mana damage part, that's right. But they still count for the damage to your life points.

Poison resistance becomes the most important one, that's right. But that doesn't mean you should run around with red lightning or fire resist.

3. As many players using ES don't have much life, you are extraordinarily vulnerable.

4. You don't die when your ES breaks, you die when your life is reduced to zero!

Even an ES Sorc has at least 700 life after CTA, mine has 900. Since you only take 5% damage, that's like a full life char with 14,000 life and massive life regen from the merc healing combo.

Such an uber char needs no resistances (as long as ES is up). Before 14,000 life run out, even with -100% life, your mana has been killed way before. When ES is down, the rest matter, as I have said, when ES is up, 5% fire, cold or light res will never bring your life to 0 before ES dies. Simple maths.

I have played my Nova Sorc with about +50% light res and right now I have -63%. My life is never in danger from fire, cold or light damage. There are only two threats: Poison res mitigates ES, so 100% of the damage go to Life. So at least +50% poison res are recommended. And Blood curse is really dangerous, of course.

Actually, I think that my life does not take enough damage and my mana too much. I'm testing tuning down the ES to just 90%.
