That extends well beyond Fury druids. LW, despite the insane cost to make, in most cases is lackluster at best.
Adding up 2 cents to the pool:
I'm using an ethereal non-perfect upped Ribcracker with my Fury druid. My merc is using Faith.
I enjoy it a lot, you should consider this option too, as well. It will cost you a Zod, though. Still cheaper than Last Wish, for example.

and you need an ethereal ripcracker - first I need to move this moped to hell - Fury druid leveling is - let's say - exciting - health bar is jumping between "i am dead" to "ah I am full" a lot
nice. thanks for the infoQueegon wrote: 10 months agoViable? Yes.
Are there better options now? Absolutely.
Without mark of the bear:
pure DPS standpoint (all Ethereal): The Reaper's Toll no Decrepify < Ribcracker < Tomb Reaver (ED/IAS inside) < BotD Thunder Maul ~= Death Decapitator/ Glorious Axe < BotD Archon Staff < The Reaper's Toll with decrep
With Mark:
DPS + target standpoint: The Reaper's Toll no decrep < Ribcracker < Tomb Reaver < BotD Archon Staff < Reaper with Decrep (against <25% phys res) < BotD Thunder Maul ~= Death Decapitator < Reaper with Decrep (against >25% phys res) < BotD Thunder Maul against no phys res < Death against bosses
I could be mistaken but I thought blocking interrupts striking during Fury. That's why big 2-handers (ebotd or Death) are mostly used instead Grief PB + Phoenix. I am no expert, that's just something I remember someone else saying.
If you are struggling with leveling I have a Oath Feral Axe that I can gift you. Its a mid roll but decent to get you through until you get leveled for gg

My 2 cents - certainly you can level up per the "Untwinked HC Fury Druid Guide" with an Obedience Thresher. My vote is for the eDeath Decapitator because:
1. Relatively cheap runeword.
2. In my RNG experience, easier to come across than the Glorious Axe.
3. Once you finally come across an Eth base, you can reliably quest socket it, since it is 5 max.
4. Hits like a truck, one or two shot everything and kill Uber Diablo in 10 sec.
Check out iluvmf video where he uses the eDeath Decapitator - very fun. I'm non-ladder so I can't use all the other runewords in that video, but the build is certainly adequate with lesser gear I could self-find - LoH, RavenFrost, Cerebus Bite, Arkaine's Valor, Goblin Toes, etc. I have The Reaper's Toll on the Merc for physical immunes, but Atma's or Lacerator on swap are potential options. Walking w/o the Feral Rage buff seems glacial, so I think the Harmony bow on swap is not a bad idea with movement speed, elemental damage, and a Valkyrie Decoy.

I experimented a bit around and want to add my observations. eDeath Decap is really super and even crushes the PIs with sunder. However with Eth Reaper's Toll kill speed is almost same and you don't need sunder. Also your merc is free to carry an additional aura support. I tried Hustle and it really works great. I'm using Hustle armor by the way. It's incredibly good for the cost. And I play P1.
* I trade both ladder and non-ladder, please check before asking.
* All my trades are for runes, keys (especially KoT and KoH) and essences!
Consider for a moment the outside of the box approach, and a cheap one to boot.
Hellrack.
With the Werewolf's IAS buffs allowing him to flick it around like it weighs nothing (add a couple Shael runes if you want to go faster), and a little help from Rabies, you'll be serving every immune monster with loads of every elemental damage the game has to offer... With one weapon.

My Fury druid has:
-Ethereal Death Decapitator
-Ethereal The Reaper's Toll
-Ethereal Executioner's Justice
-Ethereal Breath of the Dying on Archon Staff
- The Cranium Basher
-And lastly ethereal Tomb Reaver
First five of them doesn't make any significant difference if you play P1 like me, but my choice i easily RT due to frequent Decrepify proc.
I'd like to ask here since I don't want to create a separate topic: What to put in Tomb Reaver besides apparent Zod? Would like to try it as well.

On a furydruid, based on the 100 IAS you will already have from your gear (weapon+amulet+gloves), your best bet is likely just Ohm- Zod- Ohm ( Ohm > 40%/15max). By doing so you will have made a Death but with resists and MF instead of CB and DS. With Jalal's Mane the difference in damage is not as noticeable; with marks from Metamorphosis death just beats tomb reaver into the ground.basicnecromancy wrote: 5 months ago I'd like to ask here since I don't want to create a separate topic: What to put in Tomb Reaver besides apparent Zod? Agreed that for p1 RT is the best in terms of all-purpose weapon.
If you get a PM offer, post it in the trade. Promote healthy competition instead of settling for less.
