Description
I have the runes to make an Exile shield for my smiter pally, and I have one of two elite 4s pally shields: a Superior Sacred Rondache with +11% ED and 44 AR, and an ethereal Kurast Shield, but with only 27 AR. I'm leaning toward the Sup Sacred Rondache since being ethereal doesn't effect Smite damage, and 44 AR is almost perfect.

By AR do you mean All Resists rather than Attack Rating?
Resists are usually more important than Defense, especially if you are running Ubers, so I'd go with the superior Rondache.
Of course, the perfect base for an Exile is an ethereal Elite shield with high resists, but these cost high runes to procure. By the time you can find or afford one, you'll probably have the Wealth to make another Exile!

I kind of figured the sup Sacred Rondache was better, but I just needed the feedback
I'd either hold off and trade for a 45 res base-of-choice or if you do want to go with one of those two, I'd pick the Rondache. The 11 ED certainly won't outweigh the Eth def bonus on kurast but 27 res is just painfully low imo.

I'd rather try to get 40+ AR ethereal elite base. If you especially try to get Kurast Shield or Sacred Rondache, they would be preferably cheap.
* I trade both ladder and non-ladder, please check before asking.
* All my trades are for runes, keys (especially KoT and KoH) and essences!
