Does Act5 Merc w/ Lawbringer worth? (Budget Fury Druid)

No data yet

Description

Hi

I started Hell with my Fury Druid few days ago (currently at Act3
Great Marsh
, L77 - started Hell at L71, have an Obedience
Great Poleaxe
)

Since the beginning of Hell, I replaced my Act2 Merc (Might) for the Act5 Merc (
Frenzy
- Lawbringer +
Frostwind
).

After two acts, my impression is that the Merc very rarely procs
Decrepify
...
In practice, I endup killing the physical immunes myself (have some elemental damage) or skipping them (when the fight staring getting longer...)

I'm starting to think that would be better to get back to the Act 2 Merc and put Lawbringer on my off-hand for "emergencies"...
(currently I'm just using two spirits for summon/buff).

Can you get a sunder charm?

I have both, a reapers on Merc and a
Bone Break
(because the Merc's Pathfinding suuuuuuuucks) . -20% (worst case) sure isn't optimal but it's nowhere near as bad as the elemental stuff.

I run this without any extra Phys resist simply because most physical attacks are still hit calculated. So defense and block (where it's applicable) go into that calculation as well.

If you want to offset the loss, grab a
String of Ears
or verdungos and you should be good.

For the the question itself:

Never tried barbs but my Merc with reapers is working as expected

If you still need a mean of killing Phys immune enemies, use Passion runeword in swap (for
Berserk
)

This is my Zealer. There aren't many like him and this one is mine.
My Zealer is my best friend. He is my life. I must master him as I must master my life.
Without me, my Zealer is useless. Without my Zealer, i am useless.

OP
Still don't have
Bone Break
or
The Reaper's Toll
:-(
(But It's my end goal ;-) )

But I think that Act2 Merc with
The Reaper's Toll
will be much much better then Act5 Merc with Lawbringer...
(Act 2 has Might and seems way smarter then Act5... :-P, not to mention that
Taunt
removes the
Decrepify
and the Sanctuary 's Knockback can be annoying sometimes - especially with the Ghosts in
Arcane Sanctuary
...)

I m zealot and prefer
Frenzy
Barb (Last Wish + LawB) than Merc act 2

I can help for Normal and NM rush With or Without side quests for rune.
I can help for Dclone and the
Pandemonium Event
for rune.

I also prefer to use Act 5 Mercs although on my own Fury Wolfy I think I use Reaper's Toll on Act 2 Merc. And if I don't have it setup like that then definitely get elemental dmg weapons combo for your Act 5
Frenzy
Barb so he can deal easy-ishly with physical immune, something like
Djinn Slayer
+
Frostwind
.

Alternative to this to build yourself another Lawbringer and put it on the Merc as well and let him just be your
Decrepify
proc supporter. :)

Ma neeeeeeema veeeeeeeze! xd

Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."

OP
After finishing Hell,
half with Act5 merc with Lawbringer +
Frostwind
, and half with Ac2 Merc with
The Reaper's Toll
,
seem to me that unfortunately none of them proc
Decrepify
enough to realiable deal with physical immunes...

On the other hand
Bone Break
worked very well for me :-)
Even if no other source of "-physical resistance", I was able deal with them with no much trouble (mercs very very very rarelly proced
Decrepify
on them before I killed them myself...)

(only played "players 1")

Are you using some sort of
Teleport
to better position your merc or is he leisurely jogging after you?

In the second case, yeah, both kinda tend to suck. In the first (where you save that "merc still running so obv. not proccing anything" window) I for one have never had a problem with reaper's toll as it procs all the time so long as the merc actually attacks.

Though yeah, for P1,
Bone Break
is typically also perfectly sufficient by itself. :)

I get your point šŸ‘
Unfortunately I'm on the second case... (he is leisurely jogging after me...šŸ˜“)
because using
Teleport
with
Werewolf
Druid is a pain... I would need to revert to Human all the time...
(Hopefully they change this in a future patch... šŸ¤ž)
