Yesterday I completed 1000 runs with 282% MF on

Mephisto hell and want to share the results. So, 3

Mephisto,

Thanks, terrorized only one time. When the araсhnid mesh dropped for the second time I was delighted, when it dropped for the third time I was shocked!

Why would you farm

Mephisto? I hate him! Not only because I ALWAYS find the stairs to lvl1 before those to lvl3, but also because these little monsters with the knifes instantkill me… No matter what char I use…

Mephisto has a very nice loot table and can easily be reached with sorc or Enigma

Teleport. Also can drop yellow essences which are valuable.

Anyway, Meph is a good starting option if you're a cold sorc (level 50-80) that just got to Hell and wants an easy farming spot to get a few items to gear up/trade for useful gear. Otherwise, skip it.

But as knightfall1985 said, in D2R there's something fishy with the way L1/L3 entrances get generated, as over 90% of times I also do find the L1 entrace first. I used my 136 IQ but could not find any damn logical Pattern (like let's say WSK).

With the Pattern I posted I can find L3 entrance in 95% of the cases before L1 Or just simpler

Mephisto run including finding L3 takes ~1.40 sec including slaying the council and open racks / chests, which is important in this run. Personally, I like to run on meph, it's a fun! A long time ago I did 10k meph runs in a row

Search Pattern L2 to L3 exit is always to the left of the waypoint, but left can be right due to the tile generation features. Look for information on the intricacies of generating maps in D2
