Rare Dimensional Blade with +2 to Offensive Auras

Dimensional Blade I found. I am reading that you can upgrade this - Should I? When you upgrade a rare, what happens? Does it keep its old stats? Can it become ethereal?

Is this trash? It's really neat looking to say the least. Is it worth upgrading?

It keeps the stats and ethereal is one. You don't get an ethereal item randomly while upgrading but upgrading an ethereal will result in an ethereal.

For the sword itself I would say no value because no ias, not enough %ed, no max dmg and ar based on char lvl, no sockets and not ethereal.
