Poll: How rich/poor are you?

Well, the topic in itself is a generator of frustration, envy and miscommunication.

Rikus, considering how much you played (four chars level 70+) and I did (one char level 90, my three others are around 20 to 30) I think we could be in a similar situation as for gaming time (for me, 3-4 hours a week, but as much to trade).

But I started trading at mid-Nightmare with my main, so really early.

Now, after 200-ish sales and purchases, I am clearly in the third part of your post, even if clearly less rich than many of the users here.

The goal is not to brag at all, just to say that ALL my Wealth is built on tradings.

Set pieces, bases bring me pgems and mid runes. Countess also is a great place to farm for mid runes and gems.

40 pgems -> Ist, 15 PAmethysts -> Ist, 25 Rals -> Ist are trades that I did several times each.

And after that, DClones killing brought me Annis, kept the best ones, sold the others. The source may vane now with the ladder Annis coming, but anyway it has brought a lot up to now.

Also sold quite a lot of keys. And geared up. And have been also helped by richer generous players. And have to say the community of this side has always been welcoming and nice to me.

As for "natural" runes seen, I have seen one Ohm (in 3 p with my two comrades, so "shared" loot), one Vex (same), and one natural Ist solo (Countess, gave me one Mal too). One of the two buddies got Gul at Hellforge. Everything else is below Mal.

tl;dr : trading is the path to e-Wealth. Hope you'll get there too soon.

The more I read through this, the more I believe there's a distinct difference in interpretation in that the OP is looking at "absolute numbers of runes self-dropped" whereas everyone else is looking at "overall value".

Case and point, OP is still noting to be "poor" by his own definition but at the same time says he found a Mal and more importantly a Lo. In terms of absolute numbers (2 runes), sure, that hits the "poor" definition here. But for everyone looking at the actual value, thanks to a Lo being far, faaar more than 10 Mal by itself, it very easily already hits and far exceeds the definition of "rich" being proposed here.

if you count only runes i have in my stash, I am super poor - atm only Gul

if you count runes I have in my gear I am pretty rich - spent like 15-20bers on my gear

rikus, I trade but my gear (and 90% of my crafting runes) is solo self-found in online play. I've dropped Zod, 2 Jah, 4...5? Ber, Sur, at least 5 Lo, and 3-4 Ohm. I've traded for at least another Jah and a couple of Lo, maybe a Ber.

I don't consider myself lucky. There are techniques to improve your chances for HR drops, which I don't use. If part of your thinking for this thread was to learn from people who get the high runes, my advice is to get a character you're comfy with and farm high-density areas. I did it just for magic-finding better gear; the runes were a side-effect. But you need an efficient character. A clawsin isn't going to be nearly as effective as a blizz sorc, for example.

Jesus christ boi, are you barb horking Chaos and wsk? I have heard stories of people finding many a Jah/ Ber but I can't seem to find it. Now mind you, I hate people so I play alone so my drop rate is severely hampered...but still. Share the knowledgean! :p

Like I said, solo self-found on bnet. The first Jah was a standard playthrough with my first d2r character (trapsin, Maggot Lair Level 3). The second Jah was probably on the same character, mf in CS. Pretty sure almost all the Ber runes were in Travincal from non-council champions/uniques...maybe one was elsewhere? Most of the Lo drops were from Mephisto's Durance 3 council.

Just mf with a blizz sorc and a trapsin. The only secret to HR drops besides horking trav or LK runs is kill a lot of stuff.

Zod was a random trash mob in CS.

I have a bliz sorc, countless runs through CS and WSK. I've just recently started running Trav with my bowazon. I have found 1 Ber from a White ghost mob in arcane. Sigh, the rng gods are not with me lol

I wouldn't call 10+ Mal rich. That doesn't even get you a Lo.

I'd consider 5+ Ber overlaps (meaning you already have Enigma+Infinity) rich.

Yeah theres a giant difference between 10 Mal and 10 combined Lo, Sur, Ber, Jah. One can farm at a casual rate running around, the other has Enigma and is jetting around hunting elite packs efficiently.

btw i didn't find Lo..went over all my chars online. so this discussion is Void in anycase. it doesn't reflect the community. well, the majority of this trader community.

10 runes above Mal isn't rich.

I have 14 level 92 characters and I found way more than that just leveling them up.

I'd say, after making Infinity and Enigma, how many runes above Vex do you still have?

That's....actually surprisingly solid as a classification.

If u enjoy the game,spend fun times with ur friends or commmunity,u r rich.If u just play for more high runes,u r ....

You’re very kind but I haven’t got to the level that I accept charity. This thread wasn’t a begging post. As I switched my gameplay to single player.
